    Default Recs for Sidelined Bros?

    Jordan,

Here's the last five weeks, quickly:

    1) Strep; no training
    2) Newborn; no training
    3) No sleep; strep gone; chest cold; no training
    4) Some sleep; ramped training back in; got back up to a pre-sick workout
    5) Strep again (seriously); no training

This all got me thinking, when I could: what's the prescription for bros who want to turn lemons into lemonade. Meaning, how should one eat when sidelined from training for extended periods that aren't solely illness-dependent?

I understand that lack of stressor (training) will necessitate loss of strength/awesomeness. I'm just wondering if there is a protocol to make the best of such situations?

Hope you're keeping everyone in line over here. Fog machine's been heavy lately.

Not in Europe yet, Prim- but when I do I'll regulate :-)

Still, I'd think the answer to 1-5's situations are all "Train. find something you can do that's heavy (relative to your ability that day) and do it for a few challenging sets. Then do something like chins or max rep pushups in 10 minutes."

A few intervals for good measure and then retreat to the life of suck that doesn't allow meaningful training. It's better than any load of BS I could espouse here except for acquiring enough females to improve your cardio without leaving the bedroom.

Can't tell you boys how proud I am to have started a thread that immediately matured into a top-shelf escort groupsex joke.

That said, I was wondering more about the eating aspect of being sidelined (though the simplicity of your training recs above are pretty brilliant, especially for the sleep-deprived): should one just max protein in an extended (4-8 week) non-training situation and keep carbs/fat minimal? Or is it full retard on the all-you-can-eat buffet?

PS: I'm a fucking AMERICAN bro. You must have accidentally missed my rugged good looks, devastating charm, and blatant disregard for all countries not where I'm from. Fog machine was a Ken Kesey reference. Bro...

Didn't pick up on the reference- Sorry dude. My rec's would be to keep protein at the current level, drop carbs a bit, and keep fat the same. I'd also train in some way, if possible.
