At that point the only way to finish was to "sneak" the hips into extension by shifting forward and raising the chest.
    post hoc ergo propter hoc

His chin had nothing to do with it. I used to literally do the EXACT same thing on my squats as this guy until I realized that it's incorrect form. He... we... tried to get our back angle steeper at the top, thinking about raising the chest, and thinking about extending our hips way too early. The result is the knees shoot forward, you lose tension in the hamstrings and glutes/basically take them out of the movement, which is inefficient, and try to scoot the hips under the bar. You really do squat from the sacrum. No question on how much better it feels when you do it right.

One does not squat with one's chin.

I try increasing the back angle around half way up, the hip moves forward automatically.

That's 100% correct!! As soon as it got heavy and I felt my upper back pressure I started thinking lock out, instead of stay in my hips. Also when you do get the hip drive right the weight feels 15-20% lighter and everything feels better.
    Great comment thank you!!

Oh but it does provide a way to trim. I use it all the time. Video Manager -> Enhancements -> Click the trim button.
