Fiber intake
I've set my fiber intake at 35-40 g/day, but I often come in at 50-60 g. I don't do this intentionally, but between a couple Quest bars, some oats, and a couple pieces of fruit and vegetables, it's really easy to hit ~60. Is this too much? Would I be compromising absorption of favorable micro and macronutrients (e.g. protein) by inadvertently consuming this much fiber?
If not, what's the absolute max you'd recommend not exceeding? Thanks.

Your fiber intake is fine, given that about 17g of that is in Quest bars and there are some dubious "fibers" in there. I'll let that lay for now until the consensus is reached in that case in California IIRC.
As far as a max, I haven't seen any hard numbers on this- though inhibition of minerals is certainly a possibility. In general, I recommend capping things at 50g/day or so but am okay with people getting more than that if they're getting it from whole foods WITHOUT added fibers and not having any symptoms of too much fiber (excess gas, bloating, stool issues). If you're getting that much fiber from fruits and veggies, your micronutrient status is likely okay too.

Thanks, Jordan. Appreciate all your help

Eric Helms in his "Nutrition Pyramid" series (a must watch) recommends a max for fiber of ~20% of your daily carb intake (in grams).
Take that for what it's worth.

That's probably not a 'bad' rec if the fiber is from real food. Still, "too much fiber" has yet to be quantified by research so I'm reticent to put an absolute number on it.
