Hi! I've decided it was time to get serious about lifting again and was hoping a little accountability and competition with my good friend 91blckgt would help with my motivation. So I started this log.

A little back story, I'm 35 and have lifted since sometime in college when 91blckgt and I started lifting. We were essentially clueless back then and just did some of those universal machines for our first year and then starting using real weights. I can't recall exactly what we did back then but it would have been nice had we had access to Starting Strength back then. Anyway I lifted pretty regularly from then until several years ago when due to chronic shoulder pain, new knee pain, a new wife and kids I didn't get to the gym as frequently and when I did go I had no purpose and was just going through the motions.

I'm sure I have logs somewhere of what I used to lift, I was reasonably strong but nothing to remark at. Now a few years later of jack shit it's time to get back at it and planned to use SS for awhile and see what kind of strength gains I can regain.

I'm not entirely sure what my current maxes are...I did 400 deadlift recently because I did want to see where I was at with that one. Probably around 225 on bench, 140ish on press, never really done cleans and maybe 250 on squat. I'm 6'1 and currently the heaviest I've ever been at 210 (I've historically been in the 190 range).

So I'll be starting SS next week and lets see what 2013 brings.

    Steve

Default This should read "Steve's a pooter" log.

About time you started logging your stuff here. Now go to the 2013 http://startingstrength.com/resource...ad.php?t=35755 thread and set your 1200 goals.

Squat: 3x5@225 felt pretty good. Last set I was tired, but could have done more
Bench: 3x5@195 felt pretty good. Full range, no spotter
Dead: 1x5@315 felt great. Could have done more

    Squat: 3x5@235
Bench: 2x5@200 1x4.5@200. Did a partil rep on the 5th rep because the 4th rep took everything I had
    Deadlift: 1x5@325

Workout felt pretty good. Disappointed I missed a rep, but I was off for 2 weeks for Christmas so not too bad. I wasn't exhausted after the workout like I have been overall not a bad first day back.

Squat: 3x5@240 (used belt for first time, certainly helped lower back probably also made the weight feel lighter as it seemed I did 240 cleaner than I did 235 the other day)
    Press: 3x5@105
    Clean: 5x3@140

Workout felt good so I did 3x5@90 ez-bar curl

Bench: 2x5@200 1x3@200 missed 200 again. Need to rest a little longer between sets
    Deadlift: 1x5@335
