Good evening y'all. My nickname is Bacon and I am a 39 yr old novice woman lifter. 5' 10" and 180ish lbs. I did a short LP back in 2015 after roller derby taught me that strength is glorious. But then I moved and got sidetracked by the fun of frozen shoulders. So looking forward to regaining strength and maybe getting back into derby.
For today, though:
Squats: 5x45, 4x65, 1x85, 3x5x95
OHP: 1x45, 3x5x49
Chins: 3x(as many as possible) with band - because otherwise max would be 1.
Eventually I want to add powercleans here. But not today.
Disclaimer: There is a skater called l'eggs and bacon. I am not her. But I'm not above stealing her perfect handle for my log title.

Today's lifting went great, despite the effing heat. Really, after reading the article in SS on lifting in the heat I'm trying not to be a sissy, but damn. 92 degrees in my garage gym tonight. Luckily I've been slighly over in calories last couple days to compensate.
Anyhoo, today's weights in the bag:
Squats: 5x45, 5x65, 3x85, 3x5x100
BP: 5x45, 3x65, 1x80, 3x5x90
DL: 5x135, 3x155, 1x170, 1x5x180
Eating cold chicken breast for, like, the 100th meal in a row. Sometimes eating to hit my protein macros is damn depressing.
Today was easy, which my brain and body appreciated. All the usual warmups plus working sets:
Squats: 3x5x105, so happy these felt smooth and steady
Ohp: 3x5x50
Chins @bw with band: 7,5,5. One more than last time at least.
Weds:
Pushed the weighted prowler x 8, 20 sec on, 2 min off. Had the usual near death sensation, but at least I waited till after the sun went down so I didn't add heat stroke to the mix.
Today:
Squats at 3x5x110. First set was a shitshow as my brain forgot how to squat after 2 days off, but remaining 2 sets were okay.
BP: 3x5x91. These were easy. Looking soo forward to breaking 100 soon.
DL: 1x5x185. Tried belt higher up on ribcage today and was much happier than previous lower positions.
Today I warmed up by dancing with princes and eating candy at an imaginary ball with my daughter... wish the candy had been real.
Squats: 3x5x115. Stance was too narrow; didn't leave enough room to really drop into. Something to work on next time. At least the weight itself was fine.
OHP: 3x5x51. Happy with these today.
Chins w band: 7,7,5
Time to find food.
