    Default Doug A. training log

    • starting strength seminar jume 2024
    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    • starting strength seminar october 2024
Going to start the SS program in the morning.
    35/M
225# looking to become less sedentary. Hoping lifting will make me more active and allow me to keep up with 4 year old boy and on the way son. Also looking forward to metal benefits of training. In the past working out has helped clear my head provided great professional returns.

    Back ground:
    Played sports growing up
    Martial arts from 13-20
Crossfit for 2 years (2011-2013) not very good at it.

    Any advise is welcome.....

    6'-0"

No SS coaches in my area, trying to get to Houston in the next month or so, if not I will be in Atlanta in September , I think both Cities have SS coaches.
Till then I guess I will start low and slow then make small increases.

Go see one periodically. He/she can correct techniques before they become a problem. Check out online coaching. They are listed on this website.

Can't see the picture (though I'm sure you're very handsome in it); try using the insert image function. At 35, you've got plenty of man strength to develop and take advantage of.

I was trying to insert screen shot from the app. Because I am lazy and don't want to type it twice. Apparently I am not as savvy as thought on my phone. I can't even find the insert image button.
Anyway the long and short of it just starting, started very lowweight to focus on tech. It was hot as Hades in the garage, even at 4:30 am, 90% humidity doesn't help either.

Problem is I am 5 hrs from Houston/ 9 hrs from Dallas, in Louisisana. Hard to believe but New Orleans or Baton Rouge doesn't have a SS coach. Planning to make the trip as soon as I can get it scheduled.
