Look like decent presses to me. Please tell me you have a weight lifting belt on underneath that shirt. If not, why for god's sake? It will help tightness and weight you can lift immensely.

I do not... but I am heavily considering getting one.

These are much improved from the first video.

I think you could initiate even more of a hip thrust forward so that the bar travels down first and then, like has been said before, when the bar wants to go up, you press it. A good cue I've received is "down then up." Say it aloud as a sort of timing mechanism. Down is the hip movement forward (keeping quad tightness to lock knees) then press.

Give it a try and see if that helps.

Grip looks to be in a better position too.

I have to echo Matt here. There's virtually no hip involvement. You have to squeeze the piss out of your quads, ass and core. A lifting belt, if you have one, can be a boon here. If you don't have one it should be your next purchase.

Imagine your body is a strong yew bow. It doesn't bend or hinge in the middle when drawn. The bow flexes, and this stored energy is spent on release. You should really feel the hips forward in your abs and quads, but everything must be tight.

First set fifth rep capped out at 140 today. Managed to get 3x5 with a grinder or two after taking a breather.

Belt/wrist wraps are on order from Rogue today.

Your press will stall, presuming your technique on your other lifts are sound, before anything else. Give yourself the rest between sets. 7-10 minutes if necessary. Certainly at LEAST 5. It's also a fantastic time to review the previous set that you videoed and/or read over parts of the book for the lift that you're performing.

    ^ yup

That's what I've been doing. Reviewing tape and reading between sets.

Updated at 145lbs, the belt/wraps help immensely in my opinion. I had (what I felt was) a much easier time than I did last Friday...

FYI: Mean-mugging your last rep gives you more power, it's science...

Nice work! I have to believe the beard helps too.

Now you need micro-plates. I picked up these on Amazon and have been pleased.
