Looking for help on how to fix what's a clear case of form breakdown with increased load.

The more specific and technical in nature the critique, the more helpful the critique.

Not much commentary needed really. Form devolves pretty noticeably as resistance increases, and not in a normal "slight" way.

You are setting up with your hips too low. Pause any of the above videos right when the weight comes off of the ground. That's were your hips should be during your setup. Setting up with hips too low creates slack in the system, slack which must be removed before the weight leaves the deck. That's why your back rounds, even on the 495lb single. Without having your back locked in, it will continue to round more and more as the weights increase.

It will be more challenging to set your back with higher hips. That's a good thing. You want to take all of the slack out of the lifter-barbell system pre pull. High hips, lift the chest, tight back, then and only then, squeeze the bar off of the ground. Find a weight that you can do this successfully, and then continue training from there.

    Thanks.

I posted a form check video a couple of weeks ago mentioning my hip depth and potentially relating it to thoracic rounding, but no one who responded was able to connect the two items the way you just did, and the way I knew they must have been connected somehow or another.

    Thanks a lot.
