Yeah, is this strength program available in "pill form"? (rolls eyes)

This is why Rip calls it "narrow casting".
    Lifting heavy weights is hard.
    People know it.
    People avoid hard.
People suffer from loss of muscle tissue as a "natural part of the aging process". (apparently it is "natural" to avoid hard work)

It is not that complicated. Heart breaking maybe, but not complicated.

I get the same response about strength training from my family. I (enthusiastically) was telling my 70+y/o father why it's important to strength train as you get older. I told him how much I could lift after just 6 months of training.

His response was: "No. I don't want to hurt myself. Be careful, son. You'll just hurt your back by doing that. Bad backs are no good...."

Same response from my brother in law. I don't bother talking about my hobby to people anymore unless they ask me first.

I do have my nephew, however, who gets it because he lifts with friends. I treated him to a SS pulling camp last November. He enjoyed it very much and continued deadlifting. There is hope for the future!

I have a son I can talk to who lifts, but that's it. I can see a lot of people are in that same sort of boat.

I dont get why anyone would want this. The journey IS the fun. That's the good part - there isn't a finish line. The finish line is when you die.

    Running is hard.
    I know it.
I avoid it like the plague.
I'm not suffering from anything by not doing it
    Lifting wins!

You are fortunate. I usually hear something more like "Ooooh, you don't want to be doing that. There was this bloke who lifted weights and when he was forty his knees exploded and his ears fell off".

This is why I never talk to people.

"I have a buddy. He's like you but he's twice your size."

Or if someone sees you lift whatever weight....

"I got a friend that benches, like, 400 pounds 10 times."

    Or the most infamous

"I used to...*fill in the blank*

My job takes me inside of "Assisted Living" facilities. I would rather risk my knees exploding and my ears falling off than end up like the residents of those establishments.
