My "older" kids (7yo and 5yo twins) aren't as much of a problem as the 1yo. They'll usually just bug me for a bit and then play around on my wife's elliptical or rower until they get bored and cause trouble elsewhere in the house. Sometimes they'll even count my reps.

I've come to appreciate the late-night sessions more and more though, no matter how exhausted I may be.

My house is empty in the middle of the day. Wife at work, kids in class. And I have the luxury of being able to come home when ever I need during work. So those noon or 2pm afternoon workouts are awesome.

I work from home occasionally, and the baby is with the nanny, so I know what you mean. That's about as good as it gets.

I wish I was about to leave work to go lift, oh well.

I usually don't get unsolicited advice anymore (it's a reward for getting to a 3+ plate squat, 4+ plate deadlift), but when I do I at least hear the person out. You never know where wisdom will come from. It's usually garbage from some skinny twerp that read a T Nation article, but there have been notable exceptions.

That said, I never give unsolicited advice unless the situation is an immediate danger--and I've only done that twice in six years. I don't think it's my place to tell people what to do, just like it isn't their place to tell me what to do.

Training at my local gym for the first time in 3+ years tonight (just sold my garage gym to upgrade). We'll see what happens.
