Just put the chains around your neck? Way more hardcore.

Yes, I hate it. They probably have some expensive dipping-motion arm machine too.

I did put a pullup bar on the kids' treehouse out back, I may try to add dip bars to it.

Spud for sure. Rogue makes one identical as well. If you are getting into heavier weights, I am guessing a belt would work better than just using a chain wrapped around your waist.

You guys seriously don't just run the chain through the other loop on the belt to just cinch it around your waist?

You are putting way too much thought into this. It's a dip belt, $40 and it will last forever

Here's my Spud belt in action. If you're short like me, cinching the chain through the other loop can be helpful to keep the weight from banging around on your ankles.

But even if you keep the front open it doesn't just fall off, you've just got to be a bit more careful getting into position.

It really is an excellent belt though, much simpler and better design than the Ironmind belt it replaced.

In the top image, it looks like that 45 wants to slam into your dinger. I have the Rogue belt, which is basically the same thing, and wear it the second way.

lol, if you hug it with your knees, your dinger is protected. I wear it the top way (minus 1 of the carabiners) because it feels more secure, and I typically use DB's because they are easier to work with at heavier weights.

However, what you DO have to look out for is if there is any slack in the chain, it can pull down and pinch your dinger. You don't want that.

I just attach the second carabiner to the nth link in the chain (usually like 8-10 links up) instead of to the last one before clipping it to the belt ring. That way you can adjust it to fit exactly how you want instead of going with either the 'open' or 'closed' configurations.

I have the Spud belt and use the Rogue belt at the gym and like the Rogue belt better just because the shape of the back is less likely to catch on my ass and twist around when I pull it on. Either belt is comfortable with 150+ pounds as long as you're not pinching clothing or skin. I guess the only other gotcha is to adjust the carabiners so that the part that opens faces outwards instead of against your leg/hip. I've torn a couple of small holes in my pants during setdowns as a result of forgetting that.

Got a Spud. Thanks guys. It's kinda beautiful Instagram

I said "holy crap the chains alone are heavy, I'm gonna with these and count it in my log," and my buddy was like "yup, you're definitely ready for weighted dips"
