I'm in need of a 4" belt, 10mm thick. I tried using a "real" belt recently, and it's way better than my el cheapo velcro belt. Austin Baraki told me that Pioneer, Bob's Belts, and BestBelts are good brands.

It looks like BestBelts would take a while (recent equipment issues?), and Bob's Belts look expensive.

This belt by Pioneer looks decently priced at $74.95: https://generalleathercraft.com/prod...lt-by-pioneer/
Looks like shipping would only be 3-5 weeks.

Are there any other brands that I should be considering besides Pioneer that are comparable in price and don't take forever to ship?

+1. For the quality, timelines, service, and price, no one else in the market comes close right now. I have 3 Pioneer Belts.

I just called Pioneer and they said it would probably only take 2 weeks to get it since I don't want anything extra. Royal Blue sure looks nice. Oh, and it looks like they're in Texas; all the more reason to buy from them :-)

Time to redeem some of those hard-earned Discover card reward points :P

    Power Belts

You'll have it within a week.

    It will last years.

You can lift heavy weights while wearing it.

And you can laugh at all the chumps who spend months waiting on a "fancy" version of the thing you've been training with for a months at that point.

Just to add my opinion: either get a 6.5mm treated leather belt with nothing fancy, and use the rest of your money for something else (wrist wraps or whatnot) or get a 13mm treated leather belt with nothing fancy.

Screw suede. If you want color, buy a dyed leather belt.

I'm ignorant about belts. Mind explaining the above recommendations?

Buy quality and you only have to cry once. I'm a Bob's Belts snob.

The 10mm suede belts are the same as the 6.5mm treated, with a layer of suede over it. The suede doesn't add any extra support, it just looks pretty. Nothing wrong with a pretty belt though IMO. I have 2 pioneer belts, a 4" 10mm suede that I use for squatting and pressing, and a 3" 6.5mm treated belt that I use for deadlifting. Completely satisfied with both purchases.

I have purchased 1 power lifting belt in my life. It is a schiek. It is a belt, it serves it's purpose, and does not fall apart.

$65....I feel it is pretty good for the price. Did take a while to break in.
