Also, I have a confession: I hate sumo. It feels almost as ridiculous as the supported supine press.
Hanley- talk about how the SGDL > deadlift for "general strength trainee".

^ Yes. The SGDL is the very best of all the deadlift variations.

"I dream of a world where both sumo and conventional are treated equally. Judged not by their inches of range of motion, but by the quality of their movement." Jonnie Candito.

This right here is what I dream of too. If a sumo lifter and a conventional lifter begin the program together and they both progress and add 5lbs a session each session, then have they both not gotten stronger? Isn't that the name of the game? Of course knowing the differences physiologically between performing a sumo and a conventional deadlift I can understand the argument that conventional is better, but if the quality of the two lifts are the same, and the lifters both progress strength wise, then is the only knock on sumo its range of motion?

For the general strength trainee, the snatch grip deadlift is incontrovertibly superior to the conventional deadlift because logic and reasons.

Needs more screenshots with lines drawn in. Maybe some furniture or fixtures for reference. Taken via Polaroid to be etched in leather then scanned in a 200 dpi, b&w scanner from 1998. Then I'll be convinced.

Where are Skillin and his bro Skittles, the one who barely can get his back straight on the conventional setup and the whole Training Forum experts told to start "narrow stance" sumo because of his funky anthropometry?
