crud, thought I clicked on the programming forum. Can mod move it there? thanks
Hi Gents -
Coming up on 2.5 years running TM. Have a meet next week in Connecticut and thinking I'll need a switch to advanced programming as my gains have slowed a bit.
What style of training do most people switch to after TM? If the answer is RTS, is the best way to buy the manual? (or just hire a programmer?)
Currently rotating intensity day with threes , twos and ones and doing volume day at 5x4, bench twice a week. Any one had great success with doing even further advanced TM such as alternating intensity day with different variations of lifts ie box squats, boards presses, etc?
Planned 3rd attempts at the meet 540 sq, 345 bench, 550 dl (5'10 240lb)
Thanks
Steve

I've had good results with westside post TM.
Probably better to hire a coach at this point.
Second the idea of a proper coach that can program for you rather than use a template.
You also have the experience now to be part of that process, so don't be afraid to get involved or leave it to the experts.
Have you read PP? Good stuff in there for thinking about "what's next"
You can try to figure it out on your own and save some $ (at the expense of more trial and error plus time). Hiring someone will probably save you some time and headache. After TM I got some outside help.
It's not uncommon for a coach to hire a coach for his/her own performance/programming. It's extremely difficult to be objective about your own training, so the same reasons for having a coach for the normal lifter also apply to a coach.
Think of it like this: your barber probably hires another barber to cut his hair; it's not that he can't cut his own hair, it's just more difficult, inefficient, and will probably not be as good of a haircut as he'd give to another individual.
