Default Alternatives to sweatpants for deadlifting?

I've been wearing sweatpants while deadlifting, but it's getting kind of hot here in south Texas, and I lift in my garage. So, what are you folks wearing over your shins to keep them from getting scraped? I was thinking about wearing some calf compression sleeves, but not sure they'd be much cooler, and the material of the ones I looked at was rather thin (polyester and spandex?). I also found some old almost knee-high socks I used to wear with boots, but they cut off the circulation to my calf muscles now.

Should I just get some long socks that fit, or are there inexpensive thin shin guards I can get? Trying to do this on the cheap, so a solution that is $15 or less is preferable. I don't wear shoes when deadlifting, if that matters.

Cheap compression shorts, and Rehbands turned inside out for shin guards.

    Long socks.

They aren't perfect, I have a scrape on my knee today. But damn it's hot in the garage with long sweats on.

I just take a narrow enough stance that my shins are on the smooth part of the bar

Well, I do use a fairly narrow stance, but the skin on my shins still feels like it's going to get ripped off.

What brand of knee socks are y'all getting on amazon? Need something that isn't too tight around the calf muscles.
