I've been taking cold shows the last few months after workouts. I hit the elbows,
knees and lower back especially . It seems to help to reduce soreness and stiffness etc. It takes a while to get used to it, but it's not that bad. Anyone else try this or am I crazy ?

After a tough workout (like last weeks 325x12 deadlifts) I do contrast showers. Cold water that makes me involuntarily huff and/or scream like a little girl for about a minute, then hot water that turns my skin red. Repeat 2 times.

I take a hot shower, then after I'm done cleaning I flip the water to cold so that I'm not dripping in sweat by the time I walk across campus.

Hot, cold, hot, cold. Yep, contrast therapy. I believe Coach Carl Miller recommended this to his lifters to flush out the system.

That just sounds like a bad idea. Let us know how contrast-electroshock-therapy showers work.

I also take contrast showers from time to time. That said, I believe that cold showers after strenuous exercise can be dangerous for people with certain heart or blood pressure conditions.

He'll be fine, the water will act as an insulator, protecting him from being electrified.
