Hip flexor/ASIS tendonitis: what should I do/avoid doing?
So, I was squatting for a few weeks, going along my linear progression. Then I got a major hip flexor pain. It matches what Rippetoe describes in Starting Strength: a tendonitis at the hip joint caused by flaws in squat form.
I tried fixing my form but the pain didn't improve, so I stopped squatting altogether. But I'm continuing the novice program in other exercises. Is it fine to continue deadlifting, which I have, or will that only keep irritating the inflamed tissues?
In the past, when I've had a soft tissue injury, they rarely healed on their own, I had to be proactive, strengthen the muscles around the joint, etc. This is sort of different, though. I don't want to lose my squatting progress if I can't squat for 2-3 weeks. Is there anything I can do to accelerate the healing process? Will squatting with truly correct form help, or should I stay off the squat until the pain is totally gone?
Thanks in advance.
