Hey guys, I need your help. I have a nasty posterior chain/hip injury and I'm thinking of swithing to high bar squats at least for a while.

My questions is how much of my low bar should I be able to squat?

    Thank you again.

No way to know for sure, especially with an injury. Be conservative in your first workout and build from there.

Ok man. I will go with 80-85% of my best 5RM low-bar squat.

I don't know why but the low bar squat is hurting my posterior chain. And since Rips says that high-bar trains your posterior chain less that's exatcly what I need right now.

I squatted 405 LB, when I switched I could only manage 385 on HB.

Video would be of some use if you do not have a coach handy.

Well, 20 pounds ain't tha much. Technically 385 is 95% of 405 so you only lost 5%.

How much time did you needed to get your HB squat to your old LB squat?

I've been squatting low-bar for six months and I think my form is decent. Maybe my knees are not out enough but man I really thing my hips are just overtrained. It hurts the most at the lockout which is technically the easiest part and since high-bar lockouts are mainly quads I think I will be fine. Don't know for sure but I can't wait to try high bar. I think it will help me a lot.

Well after that everything went downhill so my HB squat is 355 x 3, probably less now. Lost a lot of weight and strength with it so... but I like HB I'm going to stick with it forever.
