Mark,
I hesitate to ask this question because it feels repetitive, and I was unable to find the answer via the search function.
Is the Starr Rehab Protocol applicable to joint injuries?
Three weeks ago I dislocated my kneecap, today I received the MRI diagnosis:
"Findings consistent with transient lateral patellar dislocation. This is associated with a depressed fracture of the inferomedial patella with associated chondral fractures and flaps along the medial and lateral patellar facets. A free chondral fragment is noted in the suprapatellar recesses measuring 0.7 x 0.6 cm. A depressed fracture involving the caudal, anterolateral margin of the lateral femoral condyle is also appreciated with surrounding marrow edema. An adjacent small chondral fragment is noted originating from the anterior weightbearing surfaced of the lateral femoral condyle. A small chondral fragment is noted within the lateral coronary recess. Tears of the medial patellar retinaculum are noted as described above with an accompanying partial tear of the anterior fibers of the medial collateral ligament.
Moderate to large joing effusion and small baker cyst."
So basically I tore some things, fractured some things, and have other things floating around in my knee. Menisci and Cruciate ligaments are fine.
In your experience, would the protocol be appropriate for this type of injury? I suspect yes, but the intent seemed to be rehabbing muscle tears and I was unsure if it applied to joint injuries.
Thanks.
Joints/tendons LAY OFF...Muscle bellies work em
thats how it goes for injuries
