Just wanted to say hello. I guess from lurking around here for a while I am considered elderly. I am 39 years old and have been lifting my whole life. I have been doing Crossfit for the last three years and that is how I heard about the Starting Strength program. I like Crossfit because it is relatable to my job as a firefighter but I really missed the iron. I heard about this program from a friend at Crossfit and so far I love it. I bought and read the book and am three weeks in. I would also like to comment on Dean from Best Belts. I came across a post on here talking about them so I called him up and the experience was awesome. We talked for thirty minutes or so about lifting and life in general. Cool guy!! So anyway Hello and I am really enjoying the wealth of knowledge on these sites.
One more thing, is there a place I can post a video on me doing squats and have someone critique my form. I have officially left my ego at the door and am doing ass to grass squats with much lighter weight but I know the benefits are coming after reading SS.

    Welcome to the forums.

Post your form check in the technique forum. You will have to use something like you-tube to actually host the video.

Welcome, I too support Dean Best at Best Belts. 39 is almost geezer, like me at 44, you're more of a "Geezling".

Welcome Bryan. this is the forum to learn and laugh and cheer and joke.
Got my belt from Best Belts last week. the belt is beautiful. Much better than the velcro belt I had been using. I notice my squats have gotten better. I think it is the added assistance from the belt. It may also be the confidence that the belt won't let go as velcro belts sometime do when you have a load of iron on your back. A suggestion to geezers, et al, who may not have a good belt, get one for safety. I think the Best Belt is a quality piece of essential starting strength gear.

    Dude.

It's bad enough that people under 60 post here.

Now, I have to deal with people under 40 posting here.

    I cannot take it.

Well--I am 55--so I think I skew right in. Wasn't there a series of definitions someone posted about where you fit in on the Geezer hierarchy depending on age?

    Thanks, Bill
