    Default Maintenance on TM

    Hi Jordan.

I'm 5'8, 31 and my current lifts are squat 380x1x5, DL 445x3, press 142.5x5. I was on TM for a while, i have been cutting so changed to a much lower volume programme. I started cutting at 216 and should be 185 next week.

What kind of macros would you suggest if i go back on TM at a "maintenance level". I understand that tracking will be key, but what would be a place to start?

    Thank you,

Are you doing it on a 4 day split or the typical 3 day/wk routine? Any conditioning?

i have not decided yet... but was thinking of going at it on either the regular 3 session pero week, or a 4 sessions week setup detailed below.

    Mon
    SQ Vol, BP Vol
    Tues
    PC, Weighted Chins
    Wed
    SQ light, Press 3rm, 4rm and 5rm.
    Fri
SQ Int, Backoff set of SQ at 95% BP Int

I wouldn't set up a 4 day split that way using the TM model, it'd be more of an upper/lower split. Just my unsolicited 0.02.

As for macros I'm thinking something like 255/210/60 5x a week, and then 235/370/55 2x per week on your biggest training days.

what are your thoughts on carb cycling? Like in this case, while doing the 255/210/60 doing something like 255/100/100 on rest and lighter days?

I like a little carb cycling like I laid out, i.e. 5 days at "low" carb and 2 days at "high". 100 is pretty low to go to right off the bat in my opinion.

oh, OK! i just went lower since on my current cut of about 1.5lbs/week i've been cycling at 180/180/50 and 170/25/75... i respond badly to carbs in terms of BF, BUT granted, TM is much more demanding than what i've been currently doing that has given me modest strength gains on the cut...

what iam trying to say is that it seems like too much of a jump going from the current macros to the current proposal, at least at first, but i will trust your judgement and give it a go in a couple of weeks...

You'll be fine. Do it for 2 weeks and then adjust carbs up or down in small increments to see what happens.
