Piggybacking on this thread from a couple weeks back: apparently some people from Reddit bought Ray Williams a new barbell on which he can load more weight, so he can now actually progress in weight rather than just add reps to the 700lbs that his previous bar could be maximally loaded to.

He posted this video on youtube last week, an 800x5 squat that looks to be, essentially, high bar. And with a mirror right in front of him.

He may have been a touch high on some of the reps, but that's 800lbs with just a belt. I'm impressed.

Impressive. 800 for 5 having not gotten within 100 prior due to equipment issues is even more impressive.

Am I the only one who think he's high in all of the reps?

    Anyway, impressive strength

Would it be a fair assessment to say he is likely drug free? I mean, if he couldnt afford a better bar, or membership at a better gym, then how could he afford expensive PEDs?

    Don't be naive, SLMB.

As typical as this is going to sound, you really can't judge depth from the back.

Tom's point is why judges don't sit behind the lifter at a meet, and why I wrote "may have been a touch high" in my OP.

^^Yup. And considering that he just got 800+ passed in the USAPL (IPF affiliate), I'm betting his depth in training probably isn't egregious.
