Right, and the article mentions the effect of surface. I was just curious to see what strong folk find challenging ... but see now that my question is answered in the article where he mentions that a 140 lb. load consists of a 45 and a 25 on each handle. Personally I've been listing the total load, consistent with including the barbell weight in my squat log.

The surface differences can be very dramatic - like dropping from 200 to 45 - so the numbers really don't mean anything except for internal comparisons.

Your log is fine, but you can't directly compare it to numbers that others are reporting. Unless those guys drop in and train with you.

So the benefit of the prowler is that there is no eccentric working of the muscles. Isn't the same true for uphill sprints?

It is not better. Why do you "feel" it is?

It's definitely not worse, give it a try and "feel" for yourself.

you mean dragging the sled backward, with the load in front of you?

You apparently think I have not tried both. I do not make uninformed recommendations. Dragging a sled leaves the trunk and the upper body out of the kinetic chain, and it is significantly less effective as a conditioning tool for the whole body.

Prowler work is ok, but I like to alternate Farmers Walks & Sled Dragging. The combination has been working well for me.
