Do you do this before you hit a previous best as in failed a weight reset and start micro loading back up to that weight concentrating on form?

I started micro loading when I hit a sticking point and 5lbs. were too much to add on each session. I started using 1-1/4 lb plates back in the early eighties, when you needed to find a machinist to cut down larger plates because 1-1/4 lb'ers were almost impossible to find.

I started microloading the bench and press when I got stuck on both. Got a mate to cut me some plates, and it made me push through and keep advancing.

Funny thing is though that I later found out that my powerlifting gym had microplates for competitions, but that these are hidden away. I would have been told where the were if I had known to ask. They hid them because several had upped and dissapeared and it was important to have them for meets.

After my first reset on the bench and press I started microloading, specifically when I was building back up and got to within 10lbs of where I got stuck. Since then I only make jumps at 2.5lbs. I purchased them online at biggerfasterstronger.com . Right now they are $0.79 a pound. Good luck beating that. Shipping is extra though, I purchased a chin/dip belt at the same time so shipping seemed more reasonable.
