Time to Train
by Jim Steel
"It’s noon on a Sunday and I am irritated as hell. I got up around 5am and let my Labradors outside to play fetch with them, and then I drank some coffee and then rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes, which didn’t do a damn thing for my disposition except make me sweat a little. The irritation level went up a few degrees after that waste of time. Then I wrote some lifting programs on the computer. And then I got more and more irritated as the morning went on. I knew the problem..."

Good read, very similar to the stuff I've read on Animal Pak's website. Very inspirational stuff and can help motivate people, thanks for sharing with us!

WOW, this hit home. As a father.... as a kid who grew up training in a YMCA w York plates.... in a gym that was built & welded by the owner w wide flange Ivankos....
Then today..... God forbid you train for yourself and don't share it on Instagram.
I am seeing Jim and Welbourn this weekend. I can't wait. It is refreshing to be around iron game die hards.

I have to say this article is probably the most perfectly articulated thing i have read in a long time, if not ever. The entire narrative is spot on, heart felt, and genuine. Thank you for writing this.

I love this. Very nice piece of writing. I sank into his headspace with every sentence. Very personal and relatable.
Please post more pieces like this. The programming and technique articles are great, but I could read this kind of thing all day.
I’ll also say I like lifting seven days a week too. I just hate days without lifting. I try to space the main lifts and oly lifts across the week just to give me something to do. Even if I just do some power snatches on days off I feel so much better. Maybe it’s not optimal but I don’t really care anymore.
