That blows, sorry to hear about the injury. I've heard about wonderful things coming from mishaps like this though. Guys get hurt and get set back a couple months and then explode back.

    Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

Thursday Feb 24th 2011 - Bench Press Day

Well, my doctor's visit was not pleasing to say the least. He doesn't want me to put weight on the leg for another month. So I got another cast, a plastic one, but I still can't walk or drive a car. I'll try getting someone to drive me to the gym every now and then so I don't completely atrophy into a weak, lifeless jelly.

Thankfully I have less of an appetite now so, hopefully I won't put on too much fat during these weeks of enforced inactivity.

    Bench Press

    70kg (154 lbs) x 8
    90kg (198 lbs) x 8
    100kg (220 lbs) x 8,6,5

    Weak, weak, weak.

    Chinup

    BW x 6,6,8

It's very annoying as I am the strongest I have ever been and was looking to set PRs in everything in the next couple of months.

    Bugger.
Sorry to hear about your accident. On the other hand, maybe you would have been much more injured, had it not been for your current strength levels?

Thanks Platus. Maybe I would. At least I have dense strong bones according to the doctor who looked at my x-rays.

    Saturday Feb 26th 2011 - Play Day

    Bench Press

    60kg (132 lbs) x 8
    80kg (176 lbs) x 8
    110kg (242 lbs) x 3,3,3,3,3,3

    DB Hammer Curl

    28kg (62 lbs) x 8,8

    One-Legged Deadlift

    28kg (62 lbs) x 8,8,8

This is not a bad little rehab exercise. Really felt my glutes and hams working, even with a light weight.

    Speed Press

    60kg (132 lbs) x 3,3,3,3,3,3

    Cable Row

    110 lbs (54lbs) x 8
    180 lbs (82kg) x 8
    210 lbs (95kg) x 8

    Ab Machine Crunch

    65kg (143 lbs) x 8
    85kg (187 lbs) x 8
    95kg (210 lbs) x 8

Illustrating the silliness of ab work. I don't think I've done more than 5 sets of direct ab work in 3-4 years and I can max this machine thing easily without trying. It was set at 20kg when I started after a group of three young men used it.

    Back Extension

    20kg (44 lbs) x 10,10,10

    Monday Feb 28th 2011 - Play Day

Being dependent on others (my wife) to drive me to the gym and fetch me, I had rather little time today.

    Press

    50kg (110 lbs) x 5
    60kg (132 lbs) x 3,3,3

    Bench Press

    80kg (176 lbs) x 6
    90kg (198 lbs) x 6
    110kg (242 lbs) x 4,4,4,4

1-Legged Leg Press (right leg only)

    85kg (187 lbs) x 8
    105kg (231 lbs) x 8
    125kg (275 lbs) x 8
140kg (309 lbs) x 8 (the only set that was fairly heavy)

    Chinup

    BW x 12
