One of my training partners recently competed in an SPF meet, and in the rules meeting the lifters were told that the SPF no longer allows deadlift slippers or...wait for it...walked out squats. In fact, a walked out squat (i.e. a squat) will get you DQ'd from an SPF meet.
I won't be doing an SPF meet again, and the consensus among the gym members is that, other than those who already are signed up for one last meet, nobody else will be doing SPF meets in the future either.
I'm leaning toward APA or USPA at this point, although the latter doesn't have many meets in the southeast. Anyone have much experience with either of these feds?
