    8/5
Deadlift 610x1 (RPE 8.5), 560x3 (RPE 8 for my body, but 10 for my hands), with straps 560x4 (RPE 9.5 because the weights were sliding off left side of bar. Would have pulled a fifth otherwise)

Safety squat bar squats 330 3x3

    GHR 3x10

    Pullups bw+20 3x5

--Good day. Body felt strong. My hands, however, were shredded going into this workout and I just couldn't hold onto much of anything. I have an open blister on one finger that was oozing crud onto the barbell. I incurred this wound trying to learn golf at the driving range on Sunday so that I can better fit in with white people, make money, etc.

Not to laugh at your calamity, but that injury is funny as hell...ha!

So what kind of block are you doing right now?

Also, saw the picture posted on Gentry's page. I'm so jealous. Looks like an awesome environment!

Second transmutation phase, Steve. Making a few minor modifications based on where I think the RPEs should be.

    8/7
    Press 220x1, 200 3x3, 205x3
Swiss bar bench 175+120 lbs chain 3x3 with med, narrow, and wide grip

    8/8
    Squat 505x1 (RPE 9), 470x3 (RPE 10), 455x3,3 (RPE 10,10)
    GHR 2x10, +10lbsx10
    1 min plank x 2

--I've had enough experience in the new gym to unequivocally say that the weights are significantly heavier than what we were used to at the YMCA. The press and bench are 5-10 lbs more difficult, and the squat and deadlift (with a stiff bar) are 15-20 lbs more difficult. We now have a Texas DL bar which we used on Tuesday that makes up for the roughly 20 lbs on the deadlift. That's why my deadlift didn't suck on Tuesday like it has every other workout at the new gym.

It sucks that the gym switch had to come during the middle of a training cycle. Because of the change in equipment, I don't believe I can give the program I've been running a fair evaluation. I felt great and poised for PRs before changing equipment. Now, not so much. I guess I'll just need to establish maxes at the end of this training cycle on the new equipment and then go from there.

Our next meet will be November 15, the SPF record breakers in (gasp) Gatlinburg, TN. I deplore that town, that entire region of the state actually, and will make Gentry drive. I'll be in the 220s and want 1600+. This will probably be the end of my "get big and fat and post the biggest drug free total you can" phase. After that, I'm going on a strict diet, something new for me, and cutting to approx 185 to compete in the 181s. I don't have the frame to carry as much weight as I am.

Yeah. The weights in my home gym definitely feel heavier than the weights at the globo.

    8/12
Deadlift 620x1 (RPE 9, short hold at top for a little more grip work), (with straps) 585 2x2 (RPE 9, 9.5)
Bench (paused) 345x1 (RPE 9), (not paused) 325x2,2,2 (all RPE 9)
    2 sec pause squat (beltless) 325 2x2
    10" log press (dicking around) 180 2x5
GHR 3x10 (last 2 sets with 10 lbs)
    Pullups bw+30 3x5

--Very good day. I'm not benching the day before pulls anymore. Bench has been hurting my back and screwing with my pull workouts, but doing them on the same day worked well. I'm pretty sure 620 would have gone for a double which would have been a PR. The bench was a volume PR.

That was a full day! Nice work, man.

Are you gonna at least tear shit up @198 before you become emaciated?

    starting strength coach development program
It took about 2.5 hours, which is about as long as I have patience for.

My November meet will be at 220. After that, once I start my cut, I might do a meet at 198 on my way down to 181. But probably not. As much bodyfat as I carry, I think that with a solid diet at 181 I can post within 50 lbs of whatever I post in November at 220.
