Deadlift 565x3 (at least 2 reps in tank)
    SGDL 425x5, 475x5
    Press 215x5,5,5

Finally! First workout since surgery where I had a little snap to my pulls and didnt have to nurse all my pulls off the ground. Also the first workout where I felt like I was pulling a heavy weight symmetrically. 650 prob would’ve been close for a single today. Same thing on the presses. Walkout and balance finally felt strong and I was able to focus all my effort into the presses rather than worrying about falling over.

    SGDL 425x5, 495x5

--Excellent session. Unfortunately, the knee is very swollen today. Not injured, just too swollen and stiff to do my scheduled programming. Will wait til Monday to squat and just do some back work and bench assistance today.

I’m going to go ahead and close this log down. I’m not a competitive lifter anymore. I was for 17 years. If you’d told me when I was 12, or 15, or 18, or 22 years old that one day I’d squat 6+, bench 4+, and pull well over 7 with a 1700+ total at 198 (and be a top 5 finisher at strongman nationals in my class) in exchange for my ability to run, defend myself in any meaningful way physically, or take stairs without pain or worrying about falling by age 36, I’d have taken it. No regrets. Being a fairly mediocre lifter, but one who plugged away and truly pushed his limits, was rewarding. But I’m done. I respect Rip’s work and SS very much. Wish it had been around when I started. I wouldn’t have gotten where I got without the inspiration I got from his books at a time in 2011 when I was already considering giving it up due to knee pain. But now my knees are truly shot. Bad genetics. Oh well. Adios.

Thanks for the training advice you have given me, Kyle. If you are still going to train I hope you keep a log at the other forum.
