Here was my third attempt squat at 400. Lifetime PR!

I came back and hit 400 after a bad fail at 390. I opened with a clean 365 and didn't respect 390. I had taken it out of the rack poorly and went for it anyway. I bottomed out and fell forward. I'll eventually get hold of video of that one to post.

I think what you will see on this video gives new meaning to "knees knocking". I'm not sure why this happens to me but it has happened about half a dozen times to me, never to this extreme. I'm not sure if it's from the adrenaline surge or the muscle contraction from the lift. I have always recovered within about 5-10 seconds but my legs seem to do a chicken dance all on their own. Kind of embarrassing.

Gillian, you clearly never went to Jew-camp and learned to chicken dance before getting your Friday night chicken soup. This is how it's properly done:

Seriously though, amazing work breaking the all-time 148 total. Your accomplishments continue to pile up and impress.

Kind of a bitter sweet post. It turns out that the Powerlifting Watch records that I had to go off of were not up to date. They are the only site that compiles the records across all federations. They have since been updated and the Raw All Time Total World Record at 148 belongs to Taylar Stallings with a total of 1179. Previously the record belonged to Stephanie Rogers with an 1110. That is the record that I set out to break with my 1115 performance this past weekend. Oh well. Taylar is amazing - an athlete, competitor and human being of the highest caliber. I will catch her in due time. For now it's on to olympic weighlifting and some fun in the gym.

Powerlifting records are a mess. I'm sorry to hear about that. My wife's and my Illinois records from earlier this year mysteriously vanished off the RAW website. I'm thinking of just volunteering to keep the records, since the people doing it are having trouble with it.

    1115 is still amazing!

Meet videos compiled by a very kind client and friend that brought his family to watch the meet. Thank you Steve Yoho.

Great job!! What struck me when I watched the videos you just posted (and what I loved seeing) is how much you enjoyed the experience and just had a beautiful smile after each lift, successful or not. Thank you for committing yourself to your training and being a strong woman, despite the setbacks that come your way, it inspires me to do the same.
