Things are moving up, with more difficulty and less speed than I'd like. But they're moving up.

    Press
    185x5x3, 195x1, 205x1
Notes: 185s slowed a bit at the sticking point but got them all uneventfully. Did a single at 195 and 205 to feel the weight, 205 felt heavy.

This is just to make me feel bad about myself, but compared to this 201.5x5x5 in early May (8.5lb less than my 5x5 got to about 6-7 weeks later), my 185s today were slower:

    Bench Press
    275x5x3
Notes: These also felt a bit heavy.

    Power Clean
    45x5, 95x3, 125x2, 145x2, 165x2, 185x2, 205x3
    Clean Pull
    255x2, 275x2, 295x2
    Deadlift
    335x2, 395x5
Notes: Of these, the cleans felt the best. Easy through 185, and 205 wasn't bad either. But clean pulls and DLs felt heavy. Vid of DLs still looks fast, though, but hook grip still hurts quite a bit and looks like I had the bar a hair behind mid-foot in my set-up.

    Sled Push +70lbs - 1:45 between rounds
    1 empty
5x high handles down, low handles back
1x high handles down and back

I'm trying, Will. Mean Ol' Mr. Gravity is being his usual contrarian self, but I'm trying. 225x5x5 would be a nice press milestone. And being able to actually squat again. And pulling 700. You know, just some little things.

That's an awesome graphic though. Definitely going to use that.

    Power Snatch
    45x2x3, 65x2x2, 75x2x2, 85x2x3, 95x2x3
Notes: Still so light it's really hard to tell, but I didn't feel great about these today. Think I was arm-pulling a bit, though I was mostly good about waiting till the right position, which is a victory in and of itself.

    Snatch Grip DL
    185x3, 235x3, 255x3x2
Notes: Hook grip hurt like a mutherf(&#$(&*$^*$& on these. But I noticed it bothered me a bit less when I gripped harder before the pull. In trying to get the bottom of this hook grip issue that's been plaguing me ever since the 540x5 on that really aggressively knurled Oly bar about 7 weeks ago, I've been pumicing my thumb, especially the right one (which hurts worse) the past few days. Today after the Snatch DLs, I did some more and a little blister appeared. I'm not sure if it was under a callus and I only saw it after scraping some off, or if it just developed recently, but it seems to be the source of the worst part of the pain on the right thumb when hooking. It's doesn't appear to be a blood blister, and is small. I tried to attach a pic but it wouldn't work. I've never dealt with anything quite like this before, I will take suggestions from the peanut gallery if they're well founded.

    Barbell Row
    185x5, 205x5x2
Notes: Easy. Have never done these as a regular part of my program, so just easing in.

Hang in there Wolf! I think maybe I had my Eastern astrology chart wrong...maybe 2015 is the Year of the Wolf?

Hope you continue to get back on track and have a great holiday!

Ha! I always you thought your eastern astrology skills were a little shoddy. Shoulda known! The first half of 2014 was Year of the Wolf. I just need a whole year. Or maybe even two. Is that too greedy a request for the Barbell Gods?

Just rolling, mobility (mainly for shoulder and ankles), and rowing today.

Did the 20/1:40 for the first time in quite a while, after a 500m easing into it warm-up. Forgot to take a pic of my paces, but they went something like the following from memory:
    1:42.3, 1:34.2, 1:31.3, 1:27.7, 1:27.7, 126.9, 1:24.7, 1:23.3. Average of the 8 was, I think, 1:29.3.

Which isn't bad considering how long it's been since I did this. Without heavy squatting and DLing recently, I doubt I'll be able to hit my sub-1:20 averages that I was hitting in the spring, but this is a decent start.

Felt a bit better about today. Weights recently light still felt heavy, obnoxiously so with presses - but for the first time in almost two months, I felt like I could reach up and grab a higher gear to push through. Not the top gear I'm used to having, but slightly more 'push' than I've been able to muster in a while. Felt good to get there, even if the weights don't excite me.

    Bench Press
    290x5x3, 305x1, 315x1
Notes: 5th rep felt heavy on all sets, but vid shows they were all fast without much slowdown. Just need to regain the feeling pf pushing and grinding heavy weights. Did slightly heavier singles just to feel the weight. Moved well.

    Press
    190x5x3, 140x10
Notes: The 190s were challenging on the last rep, not just feel but also slowed bar speed. However, I'm not as annoyed about this as I have been because at least today I did them after benching. The 140x10 set felt hard (freakin triceps - maybe I need to get an EZ Curl bar so I can resume doing some tricep work) but looks fast on the vid.

    Power Snatch
    Empty bar work, then 65x3x2, 75x2x2, 85x2, 95x2, 105x2x2, 115x2x3
Notes: These seemed fine till 115, then turned to a shit show. Arm bending early despite myself. No video, but I'm pretty sure. Still light enough that there was no danger of a miss, but I'd guess around 135-145, I'll miss if they are still this crappy and I don't drop under it. Which I can't really do now anyway because of my knee.

    BW Chins
    7,7,7,7,9
Notes: Feels good to build these back up, rested 2-3 mins between sets.

I'm familiar with that old trick, it's not that. Something to do with YouTube.

UPDATE: Got it working now, didn't do anything differently, YouTube just had to GIFST.
