The nose bleeds! WTH?
Is it allergy crap? We're getting carpet bombed by pollen and I've had several phantom nosebleeds while walking the dog, etc.
I need to get it checked out. It does seem to be a lot worse in the winter when the air is drier, both inside and outside. But I get them more frequently and often with less instigation than anyone else I know. Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night with one. Often sneezing or blowing my nose (especially, but not necessarily, soon after waking up) will start one. Sometimes just being in a warm/hot shower. Occasionally it'll just start without any specific irritant to set it off. Definitely need to get it looked at. I've had this issue before, but this is the worst I've had it. About 5-6 years ago this was happening, went to an ENT and she cauterized it. Didn't help much.
Sarah La Archenbronn has given me some help here and some info on who to go to, but I have foolishly not followed up with the latter. I plan on calling tomorrow morning.
I'm glad you at least gave me some credit for having sent specific details on how to approach getting evaluated and diagnosed.
Could you imagine if Wolf used Nose Tork? BLOOD EVERYWHERE!!!
No nose tork for you Wolf.
No nose tork. Ever.
Snatch Grip DL
365x3, 385x3, 395x3, 395x1
Notes: Straps still take forever to get on, and still feel weird and aren't evenly tight, but getting better. Bar moved fast, felt easy today. Did another single at 395 because I was getting a bit lazy setting my back and wanted to focus on it.
Clean Pull
275x2, 305x2, 325x2, 335x2x3
Notes: Focused on setting the back better here, too.
Bench Press Practice
185x6x2, 205x6, 5 - all paused
Notes: Focused on coming back up the same way I went down, and not flaring my elbows out.
Sled Push
Empty Sled x 1
70lbs - 5x high handles down, low handles back
- 4x high handles down and back (alternated)
50lbs - 1x high handles down and back (extra credit)
BW Chins
6 sets of 4 in between sets of TKEs.
Dude, straps are total pain in the ass, but they have helped me work thru a hand injury and on high-rep or weird lifts (snatch grip DL!) if they make it so grip isn't the limiting factor. In that case you won! End of story.
Also, flaring elbows: I'm with you there. This has just become my focus this week after watching film of my shitty, shitty bench. At least yours is awesome.
What's the name of the gym you're at? I'm sending you a present.
