I'm getting labrum repair surgery next week. I think it's something I could live with as is, but I'm noticeably weaker and have had various sorts of pain for about a year. And trying to rehab it away didn't work.

HA! Told you bozos it was an embarrassing story. Wolf's Disease at its finest.

Ya, it is pretty common from my understanding too. The doctor actually didn't recommend surgery right off the bat, but he also didn't have the images yet to look at himself; he was saying it if and only if he felt the pictures matched the MRI report exactly.

Ya, I'm a bit concerned that if I don't get it, this will be my situation too and I'll ultimately end up needing it anyway. Especially with the kind of integrity needed to push for a 300 press and 455 bench. I'll see what he says after he sees the images and also probably get a second opinion. Hope your procedure is successful and the recovery quick.

    Light day.

SSB Squat - rehbands, 3" belt
    160x5, 230x5, 280x3, 310x3(b), 340x3, 350x3, 280x3
Notes: Left knee was cranky today. I thought I was getting way off center due to guarding the knee, but vid showed pretty close to symmetrical.

    Press
    33x15, 55x15, 75x15, 95x10, 105x8, 115x5, 120x5x2, 105x8, 85x10, 65x15, 45x15
Notes: I could really feel the weakness today at 120. The right side is just so weak. For the first few weeks, the weight wasn't hard, I was limited more by discomfort. Now that the discomfort has lessened significantly and I've gone back up to 120 - very light for me, but still 100 lb increase over 4 weeks - I can really feel the weakness in that shoulder.

Snatch Grip DL - beltless, DOH then straps
    135x5, 225x3, 315x3, 365x3 (straps started here), 405x3, 365x3
Notes: Took a wider grip than last week and was still able to go a lot heavier before I felt it in my shoulder. Narrowed a bit for 405 vs 365 and still felt some of the discomfort you don't want to feel, so went back down to 365 to finish. Not bad though, for 9 days' progress since the last time.

    Very solid day today, overall.

    Squat - SBDs, belt
    465x3 @6.5, 500x5 @11 - PR!, 445x3 @8.
Notes: I was planning on 475x5 today and a nice plate milestone PR of 495x5 next Friday. The 455 I did a week ago is the heaviest weight I've had on my back since the Fall Classic; between the time off after the Pig Squat and then destroying my shoulder, I hadn't gone to even 75% until that 455 last week so am not currently adapted to the heavier loads. BUT. But as I warmed up, I noticed that my knees didn't hurt at all while squatting, for the first time in months. 465x3 popped really fast so I listened to Captain Kirk and just went for it. It was an absolute grind - probably more due to lack of being used to the heavier loads than actual strength - but I managed to wrangle it up for a nice milestone PR. Took 10 minutes afterwards and was still smoked but needed to get on with the workout for time reasons so backed down to 445 for just another triple and called it for squats.

Watching the vid, it's obvious I'm twisting. I think this is due to me taking the normal SS grip with my left side and the compromised, wrist back/elbow lower grip on my right. I need to sort this out because I don't want to twisting with that much weight on my back, for both safety and efficiency reasons. I'll have to work on this with some lighter loads, but for the moment, I'm happy to have gotten that 500x5 squat milestone under my belt.

    Press
    33x15, 45x15, 65x10, 85x10, 100x8, 110x5, 120x5, 125x5x2, 105x8, 85x10x2, 65x15
Notes: Lowered the reps slightly on the way up so I wouldn't be as fatigued for the top, "heavy" sets. 125 was weak on the right side, but not as weak as 120 felt Wednesday, so I guess that's good. Overall discomfort is way down on these. It's just weakness now.

    Deadlift
    425x3, 455x3 - no belt, hook
    485x3 - belt, hook @ probably 6 but felt like an 8
    515x3x2 - belt, R up @ probably a 7.5 but felt like a 9.5
Notes: My back is finally doing much, much better (got some acupuncture/dry needling done even though I've long been very skeptical of it, and it helped a lot with my back). So the plan was 465x5 and 505x5. But after that grind on the squat, I didn't have it in me for any hard fives on the DL, so dropped to triples and played it by feel. The 515s were pretty fast, but I was also baked by that point so didn't go any heavier.

KB 1-A Press: Left Arm only - beltless
    20x7, 28x7, 32x7x3, 28x12
Notes: Ratcheted these up quite a bit today so was happy I got am all. Went to sevens across and not only did I get all of those even at 32 with no belt and no problem, but did 12 reps with the backoff set at 28kg. 24x12 wasn't so easy on Monday so getting 28x12 today with a couple reps in the tank was great.

    C2 Erg
    250m/1:30 x 3 @ 1:50.2, 1:46.6, 1:46.0
    125m/1:15 x 3 @ 1:36.8, 1:34.8, 1:31.6

That 500x5 was great and inspiring. Congratulations on the PR.
    Did you celebrate at Chipotle?

You deserve it! Those were some great squats, and you really gutted it out on the last rep. :-)

Holy grind on the fifth. Congrats. Is that a man bun PR too?

I am not usually good at grinding squats, so this was important for that aspect, too. And Skillin, every day is a man-bun PR for me.
