This was great. You wouldn't think Petrizzo would still shimmy every rep of a 15rep DL set, but he does. He does indeed.

The bar wouldn't budge off the floor without the shimmy.

Congrats on all of the PRs going on in here lately, Wolf! I am really happy for you.

Were these from the ground? If so, I missed when you were able to transition back to full ROM deadlifts. So (conditional) belated congratulations.

All your other lifts seem strong recently as well. Good stuff.

Thanks buddy! Five years later, I still think 390x15 is crazy.

Nah I just forgot to notate it was the usual 1.5 inch mats. This is as far down as I'll get till medicine advances. It does still hurt sometimes, so I might move up a bit too, when equipment allows for it, i.e. the lid on the jerk blocks is 2.25 inches I think. But I feel like a cheater when doing so.

    Bench: 3" belt, no wraps
    425x1x2 @8.5
    385x3 @7.5
Notes: I did a shorter warm-up with bigger jumps than usual, jumping straight from 365 - probably part of why 425 was a bit harder than I thought it'd be, but still highly manageable. I was well and warmed up for 385 after the two singles, and it moved fast.

    Press: 4" belt+wraps
    240x5x5 @9-9.5, PR
Notes: I thought this would be easier, but still happy to add another bit to my top 5x5 press weight. I think I could hit 265x5 under good conditions, maaaybe 270, but today 250ish was probably my 5RM so 240x5x5 required some grit.

    Deadlift - 1.5" mats
    545x1 @8 with 3" belt
    405x8x2, beltless, straps
Notes: Back has been a little less than great all week, and woke up this morning with it even crabbier, for no apparent reason. So pulls didn't feel great.

    Today. Was. Awesome.

Press: belt + wraps for 285 and after
    265x1, 285x1, !!!300x1!!! PR, then 250x3
Notes: Today was supposed to an easier heavy day, i.e. work up to a single at ~260-270, then back off to ~245-255 for two triples. And hitting 300 next week. But warmups were just popping AND felt light in my hands when I unracked. When that continued to happen at 215 AND 245, I just knew it was going down today. 245 normally feels a certain way in my hands when I unrack and it felt like 215-225 normally feels. I just decided to DO IT, like I did a month ago with the DL, and 300 went up smooth. Not easy, but had a few more lbs in the tank. 275 was a lifetime goal I finally hit last spring (after blowing my chance to hit in fall 2015 when I think I first could've), followed by 290 a month later, but I always wanted 300 and then 315. Hit three hundo and now three plates is looking very realistic. Super excited.

    300x1 press PR on IG

    Bench: no belt or wraps
    325x5x5 - easy

Back seemed worse than expected so skipping all pulls this week to let it rest. First time I've ever managed to tweak it without realizing it at the time - I don't know when it happened. I've had plenty of time where it was worse than I at first estimated it, but never before have I tweaked it where I can't identify AT ALL the moment it happened. Getting old.
