Big Congrats Wolf! a 300 press is awesome.
Thanks!
Lol I didn't think about it that way but it's true. A very mild buzz, among the 3-5 people who watched it, which is more than I expected. In contrast, I've seen the place go wild for someone who has no business even attempting one but flailing, flopping, and wiggling their way into their first bar muscle-up after 20+ consecutive failures; or for a guy making a squat "PR" of 245 done to 4 inches above parallel. It's a funny world, Crossfit, but we do owe it a lot.
Looks like 315 is in your near future, Wolf! Congrats, again.
Thanks buddy, 315 shall be a glorious day indeed! I hope to hit it towards the end of the year, along with the vaunted 500 bench, if I can put together another good training block after a summer of less intense training. But first, one more week of pushing to a bench PR next week!
Bench: no belt or wraps
Worked quickly up to 425x1 @8.5, then 275x5x2 close grip
Notes: Just hitting a 90ish % rep to hold on to the feeling of heaviness, so when I go for 470-480 on Weds it won't have been 2 weeks since I held anything heavy in my hands on bench. Considering Wednesday pressing and benching, quick warmup, and lack of belt or wraps, I'm pleased with how this went.
Press - dead stop, strict
185x5x2
Landmine Row Thingy
90x6, 135x6, 160x6, 180x6x3
DB Curls
50x10x2
C2 Erg
30/75 x8 first two warm-ups, then 6 at 1:40-1:45.
Followed by 2x250m with 1:30 rest @ 1:55.
Late to the game, but congrats on the 300 lb Press! I hope to follow someday.
About halfway through LP, pressing 135 next week. One plate milestone lol.
If this were the Q&A, I'd sharply question you how you know you're halfway through LP but in this more colloquial friendly setting, I'll simply say I'd be thrilled if you joined me in the 300 club. Keep on plugging away!
