Me: This is BS, I really want to get back to the gym.

    My Body:

Recovery is happening, I suppose, but at a glacial pace. Will get back in as soon as I can, but alas that is not going to be today.

Went to the gym Monday, but did so little and it felt so crappy that I forgot to log. Will go back today and attempt to do a bit more, feeling marginally better than Monday so we'll see what happens.

    Bench
Ramping sets of 5 up to 255x5x2
    Goblet Squat
Ramping sets of 5 up to 40x5

    Press
    Ramping fives up to 175x5
    Deadlift
    Ramping fives up to 275x5

    Lat Chin-down
    165x8, 180x8

Considering how small the improvement in how I feel generally during the day has been, I was very pleasantly surprised by how much better I felt at the gym. Still well shy of normal, but much better than Monday.

    Squat: Tempo 1-1-0
    Up to 275x5

    Press
    Up to 185x5

    Bench Press
    Up to 275x5
    DB Row
    60x8, 80x8, 85x8

Unlike Monday, I felt better as I went and afterwards, not worse, despite the heavier weights. Good to feel some improvement after 2.5 weeks of feeling like utter shiite.

Still climbing back out of the pits of despair over here. But climbing.

    Bench Press
Up to 315x5 - super speedy

    Deadlift
    Up to 345x3 - EZPZ

    Press
200x5 - a little more challenging than DL and BP, but still very fast

    Lat Pulldown (Narrow neutral grip)
    180x8, 195x8x2

Sounds like somebody is getting introduced to the austin allergies.

I wish that was all it was. This was The Plague. That said, Austin is the only place I've ever lived where I have some allergies year round instead of just seasonally (mostly spring, maybe a little fall). So that's kind of annoying but this was, unfortunately, well beyond that.

But it's finally clearing up, and I'm feeling back to about 80% now, which doesn't seen like much but when you were sick for nearly 3 weeks, is a lot.

Of course, I managed to roll my ankle this morning walking the dog so I'll have to deal with that, but it felt relatively minor so I think it'll be a ~1 week annoyance rather than a multi week debacle, like the dozen or so grade 3 sprains I managed mostly while playing basketball in high school.

Wolf rolls an ankle about as often as most people sneeze. Glad you're inching back towards 100% at least

Fortunately Austin is a cool enough city to deal with the year-round allergies. Cedar season is coming - prepare yourself!

Now that I've lived here a full year and experienced the range of weather and allergies, I can start to decide if it is indeed cool enough to want to stay.
