Very rough day today but positive signs in general for return of future gains. Woke up very heavy headed and sluggish, and it didn't really go away, despite more sleep than usual. Napped in the late AM between clients, but was still there when I woke up. Went to train and warm-ups were OK but it fell apart when it got heavy and never recovered. Had to scale back quite a bit in planned heavy work, and it feels like I'm coming down with something. Hopefully it won't blow up too badly or will dissipate quickly.

    On the upside:
    1. My right knee was really getting worse over the past few days, to worrisome levels. Felt way, way better today.
    2. Pec felt fine even with semi-heavy bench exposure and several sets of chins. Really hope I can start building those back up again.

    Squat Warmup
    45x5, 95x5, 135x5, 165x5
Notes: Did these between press warm-up sets, with naked knees, and felt totally fine. Relieved. I usually do this on my upper body focused days, but don't mention it because there's no reason to. Today, the good knees are a significant development. Been voodoo banding a lot over the past couple days and that always helps in the short term, feels a lot better right after. Not sure if this is a more chronic result of a lot of that over the past couple days, or better for a different reason. But I'll take it.

    Press
    230x3, 230x2, 230x1, 185x10
Notes: Not listing RPEs for these because every set felt like my head was submerged in a dirty fish tank that hasn't been cleaned in a month. Cloudy, foggy, unfocused, heavy headed. I wanted 230x5 for a new press 5 rep PR but that definitely wasn't happening so did 3,2,1 and called it for heavy work. Planned on 185 for 7 or 8, and was really surprised I was able to get 10, so that was a nice surprise.

    Bench Press
    45x10, 95x10, 135x8, 165x6, 195x6, 215x5, 235x5, 255x5, 275x5, 285x5
Notes: Pec has felt a lot better over the week, so as long as each set felt fine, I kept going up. Stopped at 285 both to be conservative just in case, and because I wasn't feeling well. But pec felt fine throughout each set and still does now, an hour later.

    BW Chins
    4x4
Notes: Easy - held it here for same two reasons as bench.

    KB Press
    20kgx6, 24kgx6m 32kgx6x2

No HSPUs or holds today, head couldn't handle it. Did TKEs, though.

Do you fold down both the top and bottom of the sleeves? I fold both ends of mine such that there is as much overlap as much as possible and pull from underneath the fold to move them.

Ya that's what I've been doing.

Oddly good day today. Felt a lot better than yesterday, though not quite back to 100%; yet I somehow pulled a 15 lb squat PR out of my ass. So I've got that going for me. Which is nice.

    Squat
    455x3 @7, 485x5 - PR @9.5, 455x4 @8.5, 405x6 @8
Notes: Didn't have exact numbers in mind for today, wanted to do some heavy reps but also a bit of volume. 455x3 felt so good I just decided to go for it, and 485x5 went up well despite some bar path wonkiness (reading this Jordan?). That's a 15 lb PR for a set of 5, which I was really not expecting. Did some back-offs afterwards. You might say that I autoregulated today.

    Deadlift
    185x5, 275x5, 365x5, 415x5, 465x5, 495x2
Notes: Moved fast, though did feel a bit uneven at 465, even though I did it in the spot I tested with the level that checked out as even. Seemed better at 495 though.

    C2 Erg
    30/60x6
    Paces: 1:49.4, 1:43.4, 1:47.9, 1:40.0, 1:43.4, 1:43.4
Notes: Just easing back in, abs (right side this time) were still threatening to cramp though didn't quite get there. Also still a little tweaky in the part of my back that's not 100% yet. Hopefully can push harder next week. Turf was busy so no sled.

I'm 6' even. MY bf% is higher now than it needs to be, but I knew what I was getting myself into. At 260-265, I'm not super lean by any stretch, but I'm at a good place for a lifter who A) doesn't care about being ripped B) Really, really, really enjoys eating and C) Is very busy/works long hours, has a tiny Manhattan apartment sized kitchen, and doesn't enjoy food prep or strict adherence to a food plan.
