Got almost no sleep Wednesday night, so was bone tired all day Thursday. I was able to sleep in on Friday but that took away my training time, so did it today before work. Again pre-breakfast and in the morning (ugh).

    Press
    45x15, 65x15, 95x10, 125x6, 145x5, 160x5, 175x3, 185x3x4
Notes: Solid for labrum-less work. Nothing of note.

    Chins
    4,6,7,8,8,7,7,6,5 = 58 reps
Notes: Moved up to some 8s and six more total reps. These are feeling pretty good. Hell, might even start doing some weighted.

    KB 1A Press
    Right: 16x6, 24x5x2, 28x5,6
    Left: 28x6, 32x6, 36x5,5,6
Notes: Both sides felt stronger than expected here today.

    Deadlift
    185x3, 225x3, 255x3, 285x3, 315x3,3,2
Notes: Didn't feel perfectly OK, but felt better than in months so went up a bit. 315 still easy and all DOH but stopped there just to see what would happen over the coming hours and days of recovery. It would be really nice to be able to start pulling some actual weights again before surgery.

Back finally continues to improve, albeit slowly. Not testing it yet but even being able to pull off the floor at all without immediately feeling the erector problem is nice.

    Press
    45x15x2, 75x10, 105x8, 125x6, 145x6, 155x6, 165x6x3
Notes: The 165s were a little harder than I expected. Maybe some leftover fatigue from Saturday, maybe I'm just a wuss.

    Chins
    BWx4,6
    BW+10lb x3
    BW+8kg x3
    BW+12kg x3
    BW +31.5lb x 3
    BW+16kg x3
    BW+12kg x 3
Notes: Chins have been going very well and figured I might as well try some weighted ones. Started very conservatively and worked up in small increments, doing only three reps per set. Stopped when it got hard. My humerus didn't sublux, so I'm calling that a win.

    Deadlift
    165x3, 225x3, 275x3, 315x3, 345x3x2
Notes: Taking it slow and conservative here, too, but all were OK. Back seems like it's pointed in the right direction again for the first time in quite a while.

    Hollow Plank
    37s x3

    "BW +31.5lb x 3"

What weighs this amount? Did you chain up a 4 year old kid?

Don't get excited. Back is still far from totally normal and I only have 5 weeks till surgery so I'll still be team-don't-even-lift pretty much for the next few months. But I'll do as much as I can till then.

After another massage yesterday, back continues to feel better little by little. I can still feel the tension and hypertonicity, but it is a lot calmer than it's been in a while.

    Press
    45x15, 75x12, 100x8, 125x6, 145x5, 165x3, 185x3, 200x3, 215x2, 225x2, 235x2 @12, 245x1
Notes: Went heavy today but kept the volume down. The 235 double was one of the slowest reps of any lift I've ever done. It was nice to his that for a double, even though still a little frustrating at the labrum weakness I can feel holding me back. But overall I was happy with these.

    Deadlift
    135,225,275,315,355,385,405 - all triples, DOH
Notes: Planned to do 315,345,375 and then stop but 315 felt so easy that I upped it a bit. Felt pretty good during, though can feel my right erector a bit afterwards. All reps felt fast and easy though, which is better than I can say the last time I did 405.

    Ring Rows
    BWx10x3
Notes: Decided to take a day off chins, so just did some ring rows for the bros.

That was a solid grind on that 2nd 235. Way to press through, semi-pun intended.

I appreciate a good pun. I've grinded out some slow presses but I think that was the longest and slowest I've ever done. I can literally feel the weakness in my right shoulder prevent me from pushing harder but no excuse to just give up.

At least one of us is an optimist. However, since you went through and came back strong from a shoulder surgery not too long ago, maybe I should get on your page.
