Trained with Santana at Revolution in Tempe, AZ. Just did some light presses and chins. I have that fatigue in my shoulders and arms right now, and it usually takes a few weeks to go away. So I may not have a PR attempt in me on Monday or Tuesday before surgery. But who knows, maybe I will. Regardless, going to enjoy the next couple days of nice weather and Spring Training before getting cut open.

The weather in Tempe, or anywhere right now really, should be pretty easy to enjoy, and Spring Training doubly so!

Not cut open. Its more like being probed with medical instruments through a few small incisions. A knee or hip replacement is more akin to being cut open.

Its still gonna hurt! Take your drugs!

The weather was beautiful throughout the 4+ day trip, and by virtue of many copious applications of SPF50, I was able to enjoy it unburnt.

Well, there's a small chance I might need to be cut open if he finds something in there that he doesn't think he'll find, but the original radiologist from the MRI thought was in there. But really I was just speaking in hyperbole.

I have never taken anything stronger than run of the mill OTC stuff like advil, tylenol, aleve. This should be interesting.

Going to train one more time, tomorrow, before surgery on Weds.

Mine was an open incision surgery and my surgeon explored around quite a bit. I tried the opiate drugs for about 2 days after surgery. The side effects for me sucked, they gave me the worst headache, but made me sleep when I couldn't move anyway. I stopped using them fast and onto ibuprofin and was fine, better without the headache that opiates caused me.
If the drugs help and don't cause you any extra issues, the ability to sleep in a recliner is real nice.
    Good luck.

The best thing I did before surgery was I continued training, this sets you up for a quicker recovery.
