I've gotta give credit to my buddy Kenny Santucci for those pithy rhymes. #sizeistheprize

    Today was a good day.

    Press - belt + wraps
    265x2 @9 - old 1 rep PR, now 2 rep PR
275x1 @9.5 - new 1RM, first time every doing a bodyweight+ press, lifetime press goal set 5 years ago when my press PR was still 225 - achieved!
    240x5 @9 - new 5RM
Notes: What can I say, three press PRs in a ~10-12 minute period eases the frustration of still not being able to squat or pull. I wanted a new 2 rep PR today, but was ready to do it anywhere from 255 to 265. I did 245x2 as last warm-up and it FLEW so I jumped straight to 265 and crushed it. I was going to back off to 250 for 2-3 more doubles but said hell, I HAVE IT today, and did 275. Some of my gas was taken from the 265, but 275 wasn't an all out bone-on-bone 1RM. Didn't have a second rep, but could've made the single with 280 or 282.5 today.

This was also notable, as I mentioned above, for being the first time I did a bodyweight+ press. I first pressed 225 in 2010...at a BW of 230. I pressed 260 in 2014...at a BW of ~265. I pressed 265 in 2015...at a BW of 275. My BW right now is 270, and press 275. Not an impressive press by true competitive pressing standards, but I'm happy to have done this.

    275x1 Press PR on IG

    Bench Press
    315x5x5 @ 6-7
Notes: Easy peasy. After all that pressing, plus wanting to go for a PR bench Friday if it's there, I took this one easier. Still was a little harder than would've been since my triceps were a little tired from my laybackless pressing, but certainly not anywhere near the limit. Pec did feel a little wonky but seems OK.

    Chins
    BWx4x3
    BWx3x4 = 24. Easy. Hopefully doesn't tweak my pec.

    LTEs
    97x10
    112x8x2
Notes: Not too hard, but dropped reps from 10 to 8 also in anticipation of a possible bench PR attempt on Friday. Hardest part now is getting it into position without a spotter.

congrats on the press PR. I watched it on IG; solid rep. Does Rip send out an official "Man Card" when this is achieved? If not, it would be pretty coooool if he did.

Thanks Will. I was very happy with how smooth it was. I mean, I would've been happy with it if it was an 8 second grind to, but this was even better.

Ha! I do not believe he does. With Rip, you just have to know.
