    Good job today.
Thanks, TP. And, uh, ya, I "forgot" to mention my feeble attempts at snorting correctly. I need to do a snorting LP. Which would make Gillian very happy, I think...

Thanks man! Appropriate, considering I haven't benched more than 315x5 for five or six weeks now. I'm no longer worthy of the title. Now, if I can get my squat past Nick's 570 (our current SS coaches best no-wraps squat, I think?), then maybe I can make a case for the Volk Horosho Pridedayet shirt!

Occasionally. When I am not healing the world or lifting weights incredibly slowly.

Don't forget un-doing several years of mis-education on the minds of tomorrow's leaders.

You are mistaken. I believe Coach Matt Reynolds has done more at Rip's no bench Meet in sleeves, a really narrow stance, and completely externally rotated.

You are right, good sir. Reynolds squatted 575 that day, and I think has done 600 raw in competition. Better up my game!

Another disappointing UB day today. Wanted to push a bit and I just am physically incapable of it still.

    Bench Press
    Up to 315x5, 305x5x2
Notes: 315 was a little slow and twinged, so moved down to 305. First set was good, second set the twinge returned. It's not a bad twinge, probably 3/10, but is enough to disrupt the movement especially as it occurs literally right at my sticking point. Frustrating.

    Press
    Up to 185x5, 200x3, 215x1
Notes: Worse than bench. Twingy and annoying. Felt very weak.

    Weighted Chins
    +10 x 5, +15 x 5, +20 x 5, +25 x 5
Notes: Just easing back into these. Pretty easy.

    Hammer Strength Plate Loaded Row
    180/side (four 45s) x 10 x 2
    115/side (two 45s and a 25) x 10 with a one count pause at the end range

    Tricep Cable Straight Bar Pushdowns
    80x15, 95x10x2
Notes: Did these LTE style, with both shoulder extension and elbow extension. Note: 95 is the entire stack.

Frustrated, but what can you do.

Adjustment needed. You might have a loose goose in the roost, or a tight bite that wants to fight.

Do you PVC? or double lax stack? (I think you do from what I remember).

I use a Rumble Roller (the more intense one), a MWOD Gemini, double lax stack, and single lax ball liberally. I also have a licensed massage therapist - who is quite good - that I've seen 2-3 times since this began, and have additionally seen a soft tissue guy who does manipulation and ART stuff, who was recommended to me by Ellen Stein. I saw him 3 times within a two week period ending a week ago.

I think all of that has helped; it's much better than it was three-four weeks ago, but obviously it's not back to normal yet either. And the site of the most intense discomfort (not that it's all that intense anymore, but it's definitely there and persistent) changes, too. For the first 3-4 weeks it was in the beef of the upper trap; then it moved to the anterior of the upper trap, the part you see from the front if someone does a "most muscular" pose, where it attaches to the clavicle; now it feels worst in what I think is the middle trap region just medial to the scapula, though it may be the top part of the lower traps.

    It's just freakin' weird.

Maybe an adjustment of some sort would help. I don't know anyone locally who I trust to do that, however.
