Lifting at home is the greatest thing ever. I actually lift at my buddies place, but it is still a home gym filled with my stuff. It is awesome to go in and do anything at anytime.

I agree. Hope gym with actual training partners is probably a great thing for progress and sanity.

    5/19

    Press - 45x5x2, 95x5, 135x3, 155x2, 185x1, 207.5x4, 187x5x2
    Chins - BWx10x4

Not a bad day, my bar path was much better on my presses than last week so even though I would have liked to get five at 207.5 I will take it as it is still one more rep than I got on my last cycle at this weight.

    5/20

    Squat - 45x10x2, 135x5, 225x5, 275x3, 315x2, 385x1, 425x4
    P. Clean - 135x3, 185x2, 225x1, 245x1, 267.5x1x6

Okay day. My squat form was pretty locked in. At 425 my first three reps went up fairly easily but the fourth was a total grind. I wanted five on this but still okay with it as last cycle I only got this weight for a triple. Cleans went okay. I wanted to get eight singles but was gassed after my sixth set. I missed my seventh rep twice and called it a day. Pretty confident I will get all of my reps next weekend.

Wolf, Oldster, and Steven, as far as the home gym idea goes, I think right now my buddy Mike's garage may be the spot. He has already been talking about doing this for awhile and has been slowly gathering some strongman stuff. Hopefully he gives it the green light. As far as the mats at my gym goes, the guy working there today approached me about using them for my power cleans and I basically lost it and in a not so calm manner explained to him that it screws up my lifting and that I have brought in too many members (at least four of the top of my head) as well as lots of my own equipment (my bumper plates and in particular my prowler) that everyone else uses and if people don't like it when we deadlift and clean than tough because we pay our gym dues like everyone else. I think I scared him a little and he told me not to worry about using the mats. I will keep you posted on this.

I reached out to Andy to put together a program to get me ready for my upcoming meet in July. As of this week, I am eight weeks out and Andy and I came up with some goals based off of my recent training weights. The program looks great and it has given me a lot of confidence going into the meet in July. Tonight was my first training session of the cycle.

    Squat - 45x10x2, 135x5, 225x5, 275x3, 315x2, 345x5x5
    Chins - BWx10x3

Good workout. Squats felt light and fast.

Thanks Oldster. The idea is to have a volume squat and volume bench day earlier in the week and then have a "mock meet" over the weekend. I really like the layout of the program and am enjoying it thus far.

    5/25

    Squat - 45x10x2, 135x5, 225x3, 275x3, 315x2, 365x1, 415x1x5
    Bench - 45x10, 135x5, 185x3, 225x2, 275x1, 300x1x5
    Deadlift - 225x3 (p. cleaned), 315x3, 405x2, 455x1, 495x5

Good day today with Nick, Mike, and Rori. Squats and bench felt very solid. We did all of the work sets with competition commands. I was happy with deadlifts. I really had to focus because I was pulling off of the god damn mats that my gym has instituted. I just decided to stop making excuses and get it done. I hope everyone has a good weekend.
