They should have felt like childs play to you, John! After some of the big weights you've hit of late, I'm surprised the bar and weights didn't stick in the ceiling.....

How do those bench presses feel for you? Remember, in these first few weeks some of these weights are going to seem kinda light. A good way to "make the light weight harder" is to just do everything with a narrower grip. It will carryover to your competition grip well. As the weeks go by and the weights get heavier, just slide your grip out little by little.

HA! Thanks, Oldster. Hopefully things continue to go well.

Thanks for checking in on me, Andy. I have been using a bit more of a narrow grip and will start to widen it out as needed. So far, everything is going really well. Thank you for all of the great advice, I can't wait to see what kind of numbers I can put up come July!

    6/1

    Squat - 45x10x2, 135x5, 225x3, 275x2, 315x2, 385x1, 425x1x5
    Bench - 45x10, 135x5, 185x3, 225x2, 275x1, 305x1x5
    Deadlift - 225x3 (p. cleaned), 315x3, 405x2, 455x1, 505x5

Good day today. I had some bar path trouble while warming-up my squat but my singles with 425 were mostly okay, good speed on all of them (for me at least). Bench went really well. Both bench and squats were done with competition commands. I was really happy to get another set of five on my deadlifts today. I will attach a video of my 505 set below. I definitely lose some tightness during the set and on the first rep I drop my hips and tried lifting my chest early, which is unusual for me, as I usually have pretty good pulling mechanics. Overall though, I am happy with the set.

    Here is the video:

Hey you still do have really good pulling mechanics. That was a great set!

Good day today. Squats felt pretty much locked-in. No issues with these at all.

I'm not OK with the use of "U r" outside of a text message. Please correct immediately.

Seriously, great lifting John. With a month to go before the meet, you're in great shape to smash a great total.
