^^^^ What he said. You were pretttty low on those last two squats. That was admirable grinding (that sounds creepy).
Also, what the shit kind of music was on during your squat set? Good thing Nick's booming voice overwhelmed it.

    Your pulls rocked.

    Thanks, guys.

    12/22

    Bench - 45x10x2, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 245x2, 275x5x5
    Press - 45x5, 95x5, 145x8x3
    Chins - BWx10x3

Good training session. Bench felt very light and easy, but my shoulder still feels crappy. I am going to add some extra chin-ups for a few weeks and see how that goes.

Awesome lifts John! Just wondering did you start off with starting strength when you very first started training?

Hi Kooline. I first started lifting back in high school a few years before the first edition of SS was published. Like a lot of guys, I started out using programs out of magazines and things like that. Fortunately, I bought a copy of the "The Strongest Shall Survive" around my freshman year of college and that got me on the right path. I played college football, so for most of the year I was forced to use the programming that our strength coach designed for us (which was not very effective for me). It wasn't until after I graduated from my undergrad that I began to use SS style programming.

You are already way ahead of where I was at your age. Keep working hard, and good things will happen for you.

    Thanks, Kooline.

    Squats - 45x10x2, 135x5, 225x5, 275x3, 335x2, 385x5x5

Trained on my lunch break from work today. Squat form felt a little off, but bar speed felt good (for me). I did these without much rest. Below is a video of my last set:

I gotta say John. I'm always impressed watching you get stronger. You are definitely on a roll now.

Thanks, Dwayne. I appreciate that. I hope you and the girls had a great Christmas!

    12/26

    Bench - 45x10x2, 135x5, 185x3, 225x2, 275x1, 295x1, 315x1, 335x1x3, 325x1x2
    Press - 45x5, 95x5, 135x3, 165x2, 200x3
    Chins - BWx5, BW+25x5x3

Pretty good day today. I did some extra warm-ups to see if that helped my crappy right shoulder. Overall, I think it helped. I was supposed to do five singles across at 335, but my third single got really out of the groove and took a lot out of me, so I dropped down on my last two sets. 325 felt easy, I just did not trust my globo gym spotters in case I missed at 335. Presses felt pretty solid.

    12/27

    Squat - 45x10x2, 135x5, 225x5, 315x3, 365x2, 405x1, 450x3
    Deadlift - 135x3, 225x3 (p. cleaned), 315x3, 405x2, 495x1, 550x2
    Halting DL - 425x8x2

Disappointing training session. I did not have any focus. My squats felt like they were all over the place, and I had no gas for deadlifts. 450x3 ties a 3RM so I am okay with that, but I was supposed to pull 550 for a triple and failed the third rep. This was very frustrating considering I have pulled 565 for a triple before. I am not going to worry about it too much, and try and bounce back next week.

On a related note, I trained with my very own B&R bar for the first time. Nick was nice enough to actually buy a B&R bar for Rori and I for Christmas. I was totally floored. In all honesty, I cannot remember anybody doing anything this nice for me in my entire life. Nick is a good guy, and I am proud to be able to call him my friend. Thanks, buddy.

Here are some videos of my squat and my huge embarrassing excuse for a deadlift:

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I hope to one day have the hip drive and tightness you display in your squats. Strong work.
