Perspective is so funny. I use the B&R bar when I want less aggressive knurl!

Nice lifts. Things are looking good for the meet.

Excellent, just excellent. That DL was awesome! Good looking squat single too. Just one and back-off set or anything tho?
Thanks, Rob. No back off sets on the squat yesterday. Starting next week, I will be doing singles across.

    Congrats on the PR John!
    Thanks, Kooline.

Thanks, Dwayne. Don't worry, I am not abandoning the hook!

Thanks, Jenica. It is pretty funny. I am so used to training on crappy, old, globo gym bars that when I finally got to use a good bar, it was kind of a shock to the system!

    1/7

    Squat - 45x10x2, 135x5, 225x5, 275x3, 315x3, 345x2, 370x5x5
    Chins - BWx11, 11, 10

Good training session. 370x5x5 was easy, but it took me forever to get loose today. I had to do several extra warm-up sets. I must be getting old.

Hey John awesome lifts. I actually saw you lift at an RPS meet over the summer if I recall correctly. I saw the "hip drive" shirt and SS form on the lifts and took notice lol. I remember you pulled a big deadlift PR which was pretty awesome. I'm glad I realized that you post on here. Good luck with your lifting goals.

Wow, I missed a lot by being away the past week. Just the tip, knuckles deep, and one hell of a gutsy 585 pull. Seriously, that was a PULL!

KNUCKLE wolf, not KNUCKLES. Big difference, my friend.

And damn John, that pull was legitimately inspirational! Nice work man.

Thanks, buddy. I wish the pull wasn't so rough, but it is what it is.

    That's what she said. Literally.

    Thanks, Niki.

    1/8

    Bench - 45x10x2, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 255x1, 280x5x5
    Press - 45x5, 95x5, 135x3, 165x1, 182x5x3

Pretty good training day. I took less than five minutes rest between sets on the bench and did not use a hand-off. Felt good.

Finally having a little time to catch up to some lifting journals and what do I see? John Petrizzo doing a 3 inches below parallel paused squat with 485... Magnificent grinding!

    He needs to pause LONGER!!!

John is internally very intense. That's something I notice about him and admire.
