Thanks, guys. I have been trying to increase my overall volume with my back-off sets this cycle. I have been a little more fatigued on my top sets than I was during my last cycle, but still feeling like I have room to keep progressing.

    8/31

    Bench - 45x15x2, 135x5, 185x3, 225x2, 275x1, 295x1, 315x5, 300x7, 285x7
    Chins - BWx5, BW+37x5x3

    Pretty good session.

    9/3

    Press - 45x8x2, 95x5, 135x3, 165x2, 185x1, 210x5, 190x6, 190x5
    Chins - BWx11, 8, 8, 7

    9/5

    Squat - 45x15x2, 135x5, 225x3, 275x2, 315x1, 365x5x2
    Deadlift - 225x5, 315x3, 405x2, 455x1, 495x1, 540x5
    SLDL - 335x8

Rough training week. Had a massive amount of work to get done this week and was on even less rest than usual. Squats on Tuesday felt terrible and I skipped power cleans altogether. Presses went okay on Wednesday. Squats felt like garbage again tonight, but deadlifts went well. Hopefully I can get recovered in the next few days and get back after it next week.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

I hear you on this. It's been a terrible week, but the silver lining is that I got all my reps.

I know I've said this before, but the numbers and the progress in your log are extremely inspiring to me. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words, Nick. I really appreciate it.

Your bench is really coming along. Weren't your heavy singles across at 330 or 335 right before the November, 2013 meet?

Thanks, Wolf. Before the November meet last year, I did 335 for five singles across. Unfortunately, my squat is going in the opposite direction of my bench.

    9/9

    Squat - 45x15x2, 135x5, 225x3, 275x2, 315x1, 365x1, 405x1, 455x2, 410x5
    P. Cleans - 135x1, 185x1, 225x1, 230x3x5

    9/10

    Press - 45x8x2, 95x5, 135x3, 165x2, 195x1, 212x5, 192x6x2
    Chins - BWx11, 9, 8

Very disappointed in my squats. Last cycle, I hit 460x5, doubled 495, and hit 420x8 on my back-off sets. I could have tripled 455 yesterday, but I knew I was not going to get five so I just racked it in frustration. Power cleans were super light and easy. Fortunately, presses went well today. The plan for right now is to reset my squat a little bit and see if I can get recovered a little better and build back up over the next several weeks.

I'm sorry to hear that your squats are not where you want them to be! I can definitely relate to your troubles, but mine are precisely the opposite haha! My squats are finally on the rise, but now my bench press is dropping at a rather alarming rate. Hopefully, we can both get out of our ruts!

Sorry about your squats man. Mine are in the dumper too. At least you're not 2 weeks out from a meet. Otherwise, I would be doing the same thing with a bit of a reset. You'll be at 500x3 pretty soon though, I'm sure.

On your deadlift day, do you squat beltless?

When you do your top set and it feels terrible (like @10 in RPE-speak), maybe don't do back off sets or do lighter back off sets to allow that tank to get a little more gas in the upcoming week maybe?
