Just watched your and Nick's videos, didn't see your GF's yet. First of all, congrats on a great meet and hitting meet PRs in every lift. Persevering despite the injury paid off, and although you didn't hit 1300, you bested your last meet. I liked the RPS meet I did in May a lot, and am doing the Christmas Carnage meet on Dec 1 in Allentown. Kong, who keeps his log here, is also doing it, as are a few other people I know. If you're not too pooped and peaked out from this one, would be awesome to have a big group of lifters together there. PM me if you're interested.

Also good to see the seminar connected you and Nick. Nick is a freak, tell him I said he should start a log here too. The guy was squatting what, 405x5 and pulling 425x5 just 2 months ago? And hit a 530 squat and 570 DL at this meet. Sick. You guys are gonna push each other and both get a lot better as a result. Good work JP, keep training hard.

    Thanks Wolf,

I appreciate the kind words. Nick is definitely a freak, I will pass along the message. I would love to make it to Allentown if I can make it work out with my work schedule. I will PM you within the next few days.

    Hey John,

Nice fucking work on pr'ing the meet, give my regards to Nick too. It looked like everybody had more in the tank (your gf especially). That said, I'm pretty sure if you had a pre-workout coal oven pizza you would have won the 220lb class. Let me know if you're ever bored enough to come around NC. Keep punishing the weights.

    Lou,

Thanks for checking out my log, it is great to hear from you. It's funny that you mention pizza bc my girlfriend and I were without power for 13 days here after the storm and we ate more pizza during that time than I probably had in my entire life! Of course it was nothing like the gourmet stuff that you make so I think that would have put me over the top. I hope you and your brother are doing well and training hard, the next time I head down to NC I am definitely looking you guys up. Thanks again for the kind words.

    Fri 11/16

First day back since the meet, took it pretty easy...
    Light Squat - 45x5x2, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 275x2, 295x5x2
    Press - 45x5x2, 95x5, 135x3, 172.5x4, 4, 4
Did this for 5, 4, 4 my last session before the meet, not thrilled with this but overall my form felt good so I am not upset
    P.Clean - 45x3, 95x3 (from the hang), 135x3, 185x3, 205x3x5
    Felt light and fast.

I hope everyone has a great weekend,

    JP

    Tues 11/20

Decided to back off about 5% on all my lifts to help me get back in the swing of things. After my last meet I tried jumping back into heavy workouts too fast and it definitely set me back a bit. My plan is to continue running the standard SS LP that I have been using since I tweaked my back for as long as I can until a program change is necessary.

    Squat - 45x5x2, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 275x3, 315x1, 350x5x3
    Press - 45x5, 95x5, 135x3, 162.5x5x3
    P.Clean - 45x3, 95x3, 135x3, 185x3, 210x3x5

Had to train early in the morning which is always rough for me but everything felt manageable.

    Thurs 11/22

    Light Squat - 45x5x2, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 280x5x2
    Bench - 45x5, 135x5, 165x3, 195x2, 225x1, 250x5x3
    Chins - BWx13, 9, 8

Overall felt pretty good. Getting back in the swing of things and looking forward to squatting and deadlifting on Satruday. Hit the prowler with Nick for the first time in a long, long time and it showed. Every I do that damn thing I immediately regret it.

I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!

    John,

Just watch your video from your meet. Nice job. Looked like you had a little more in the tank still. Look forward to seeing you and Nick next week.

    John,

I just watched the meets vids and read through your log. Nice work. I agree with what Josh said above. I love that you lift with your GF. Rory has some great potential. Where on LI do you train? Mac and I visit NY several times a year to see my family and we always like to meet new lifters and get together for training and food.

Thank you for the kind words Gillian. I agree that Rori has a lot of potential. We live in Glen Cove and we train in a few different gyms in the area, it is hard to find good places to train here on LI. We would love to meet you and Mac the next time you are in the area, it is always great to meet other lifters.
