Petrizzo videos get fun when he struggles, because he just keeps pushing/pulling. They could be captioned "How not to quit on a rep."

Seriously. The way you grind through - on that 3rd rep at 450, wow - is a study in staying with a rep. I need to get much, much better at this.

I hope to one day have the hip drive and tightness you display in your squats. Strong work.
Thanks. I have to work hard to maintain tightness during my squat. I have a bad habit of loosening up in the hole.

Agreed. This is not a mistake that I will make again!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I was really disappointed with how those sets went. 445 and 545 were much easier triples a few weeks ago than 450 and 550x2 were this past week. I need to be better. Hopefully this Friday won't be such a grind!

    Thanks, Dwayne.

    12/30

    Bench - 45x10x2, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 245x2, 280x5x5
    Press - 45x5, 95x5, 147x8, 8, 7

Okay day today. Bench felt pretty good. Ran out of gas on presses a little bit. Rushed through the workout due to time constraints.

    12/31

    Squat - 45x10x2, 135x5, 225x5, 315x3, 365x2, 410x5, 5, 5, 4, 3
    Chins - BWx11, 10, 10

Disappointing training day. I was pretty confident I was going to get 410x5x5, which would have been a PR, because 405x5x5 was not too tough a few weeks back. I really had to grind hard on my third set, and just ran out of gas. I am confident I will get this the next time it rolls around. In the meantime, I have decided to do a local RPS meet at the end of February here on LI. I want to continue to gain more meet experience and I think I can hit some modest PRs in all of the lifts. Right now I am handling weights at or very close to where I was at the end of my last meet prep cycle, and I still have seven weeks to improve on them. Looking forward to it.

Here are a few videos from my huge embarrassing failure of an attempt to squat 410x5x5:

I hope everyone had a Happy New Year.

Great work grinding through that. Even though you didn't get five across today, you'll get it very soon. Surely that was tough mentally as well.

You go really low in your squats, do you mean to go that low?
