    Tuesday 12/3

    Power Clean: 245x3, 275x3, 305x3
    Floor Press: 225x5, 255x3, 285x1, 315x5x1
    DB Row: 120x30 each side
    Leg Press: "405"x10, 495x10, 585x10

Can't train tomorrow, so I trained today. I continued playing with the leg press to see what my knee says about it.

    Thursday 12/5

    Clean&Press: 180x5, 200x3, 225x1, 245x3x1, 265x2x1
    Deadlift: 420x5, 480x3, 535x3x1, 585x1, 605x1
Back Extension: 2 sets of 25

I forgot my notebook, so I had to guess on my weights. I ended up deadlifting 10 pounds below what I should have (should have done 430, 490, 545), but who cares. I finally pulled over 600, and it was fast. And then I invoked my rule that I just made up today where I get to blow off assistance work after a PR.

It turns out that the gym is going to be closed for a couple weeks starting Thursday. So rather than train, I decided to dick around this week. Yesterday I went in and tried the three old Olympic lifts, just for fun.

    Clean & Press: 245, 265, 275
    Snatch: 205, 225 (possibly a pressout), 225 (miss)
    Clean & Jerk: 275, 295 (definitely a pressout) 295

That was fun. I suppose I should train the snatch and jerk if I want to put up less pitiful numbers. All the cleans and snatches were power, and my jerks are the most hideous things imaginable.

Tomorrow I'll do the power lifts.

Stupid test week fun, part 2. In about two hours in the gym, I did the following:

    Squat: 495, 545, 585
    Bench: 345, 375, 405 (not even close)
Deadlift: 545, 585, 635 (died at the knees)

The 585 squat was shockingly easy. The 405 bench was not even close to being there today, so I don't feel too bad about it. The 635 pull was really frustrating, however, because I pulled it to my knees, and it SNAGGED ON THE BOTTOM OF MY KNEE SLEEVES, and I couldn't pull it any higher. I think I probably would have been able to finish the pull otherwise. Super frustrating.

Still, it's a 1545 total, and I'm pretty happy about that, even if it should have been 50 pounds or more higher.

I have a bunch of videos from today, and if I feel ambitious, I'll edit them into one video and put it up here.

Now I need to get less fat and in less deplorable shape. I'm eyeing a few jiu-jitsu tournaments in the spring, and my conditioning needs to be a lot better if I want to avoid embarrassing myself. I'm not nearly strong enough to justify weighing over 260.

Great lifting Mark. That is still a very good total, especially leaving 50 pounds on the platform. I'm sure you will break 600 on squat very soon.
