Thanks Mac. I'm going to make sure to warmup up with some light low bar squats before I lift, the sad thing is idk whats going to shock them more.

Power Clean and Jerk 340x1 PR Smoked.

I may just power at this meet for both lifts. The guy filming accidentally took a picture instead of a video. You guys will have to wait until 350.
Wow! Very awesome Nick! I've had that happen before, where the guy accidently messes up the video. :-)

    Shocked faces.
Heh, good point Mac! It sort of reminds me of that Jim Welborne interview here at SS. He says that one of the guys on the team wanted to try and powerclean. He just picked up and ghetto clean/pressed 405 and asked if that was ok. :-) He was just strong as hell.

Impressive lifting dude. 154 kg powerclean is no joke. What total would you need to qualify for nationals?

2/18 Went off program and made very good of what could have been a bad day

    Power Snatch + Snatch
    50x2
    70
    90
    100
    110
    Power Snatch
    110x1x2
    90x1x3
    Squat 135x5, 225x3, 315x2, 405x1, 455x1, 485x3 PR
    Press 135x5, 165x3, 195x2, 215x1, 232.5x3 PR
    Strict Press 205x3x3

I didn't have the gas today at all for volume, but made a deal with myself if I could pull it together for 1 set and get a PR I could stop... and it worked.

2/20 Did Powers today kept it medium weight and hit singles

    Power Snatch
    50x3x2
    70x2
    90x1
    100x1x10

    Power Clean and Power Jerk
    70x2
    90x1
    110x1
125x1x4 last single was sloppy on jerk so I dropped down to just groove it better
    110x5
    125x1

Right shoulder feels like it needs to crack but wont. No pain just not comfortable. I'm going to do some mobility stuff and see how it feels. Also I think I'm going to need some where in the neighborhood of a 290 total to qualify for nationals. I haven't found the exact number online yet.

This will be my first weightlifting meet. When I meet Rip in September he told me if I trained for a year I would have a shot at placing at nationals and that inspired me to get my shit together and bust my ass. For this first meet I'm not going to cut any weight and the plan is, right now, to power everything except for the jerk probably. Last years qualifying total for the American Open as a 105+ was 290, this years Nationals qualifying total is 295 for a 105. American Open last year was end of November, so thats what I'm gunning for. Even though I've always fucked around with them, I really only started training the lifts seriously the last week in December when I started with Josh and Shelly. My plan is to eventually compete as a 105 but for now just get some experience doing a meet and not thinking about the other stuff just yet.

    2/21
Chins 2x5 warmup, shoulder was feeling achey and these helped.
Squat 45x10x2, 135x5, 225x3, 315x2, 385x1, 420x5x3 Legs felt much better today after powers yesterday instead of the full lifts.
Bench 45x20, 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, 265x2, 290x4 Bar got out in front on the fourth and it took a ton of energy to get it back. Also my shoulders felt tentative.
Close Grip Bench 225x3, 255x3, 275x3, 295x3 These felt way better then bench. Bar speed up until 295 was also much faster.

I just got the nike romaleos yesterday and today was my first time using them. The heel height is a little higher and I felt a tiny bit forward on squats, but overall a much tighter shoe than the rogue. My feet feel glued to the floor. After a few of more sessions I'm sure I'll be used to it.

That must be as exciting as hell. I want to do my first weightlifting meet sometime at the last half of this year. Qualifying above parallel would be badass.

    Thanks Alex

    2/23
    Power Snatch
    50x3x2
    70x2
    90x2
    100x1x2
    110x1
    115x1
    120x1x2 F
Just felt off on all of these. Right shoulder was shaky, not shrugging. Was hitting everything above 100 on my pubic bone, which fucking killed.
Power Clean and Jerk (alt b/w power and split)
    70x2
    90x2
    110x2
    130x1
    145x1 F
110x1x10 (on the minute) around rep 3 things finally started clicking for both the clean and jerk
Power Snatch Didn't want to end Snatches on a bad note
70x1 John cued me to shift back and everything started to click
80x1x5 (on the minute) These felt effortless

Right shoulder is feeling off still. The plan right now is to dig the lacrosse ball into the capsule everyday for a week and sporadically do chins through out each day. Chins make it feel good. There is no pain or pathology, I just have to learn how to shrug on that side.

Just wasn't feeling it today. I couldn't get any momentum.

    2/25
    Power Snatch
    50x3
    70x3
    90x2
    100x1
    110x1
117.5x1 This was the best lift of the day
    Squat 135x5, 225x3, 315x2, 405x1, 455x1, 510x1, 455x3 Squats were slow, everything felt like a grind.
    Press 135x5, 165x3, 195x2, 215x1, 235x3,2,2

My body felt ok physically, I just couldn't get going mentally. This is the first week of volume reduction and the last week I'm going to deadlift before the meet.
